Next door to the beautiful Carlina hotel stands the Juliette chalet. We were lucky from the moment we arrived to be welcomed & looked after by the brilliant Lucy & Lucy, our chalet hosts. They couldn’t do enough for us all week. The chalet is beautiful with an open plan living room on the middle floor, with massive floor to ceiling views across the mountain and down to Bellecote; the website photos don’t do the views justice. The chalet has a large family room and twin on the same middle floor. With two twin rooms upstairs, and two doubles and a twin on the lower floor. All en-suite. V comfortable beds. Nice touches like Molton Brown toiletries and flat screen TV’s giving everyone perfect privacy. The sauna is ok - but u feel like u r sitting in the chalet hall! Plus the hot tub is just that - not a jacuzzi, but still v nice, with the same wonderful mountain view. Private boot room on the piste level. Perfect chalet for a group of 15 in our case / 4 families. Equipment collection and return is great with a taxi option for collecting your equipment and a collection service on your final evening meaning u don’t need to join the shop queues. Easy access to the piste with a short walk to the hotel ski out ramp (blue), straight down to Bellecote and the main chairs. The food and wine were excellent (& we are a very foodie group!), thx to Lucy and Lucy who like I’ve already said were brilliant. The broader Crystal team were v helpful, answering all our questions. They also organised for a local massage company to come to the chalet for massages and facials. Lots of ski options with huge number of blues (some quite challenging), plus the option to go to Les Arcs which some of our group enjoyed, and some walking trails. Many lovely lunches and drink stops in the area, but we must give the Carlina a shout out; the perfect end of day or late lunch stop on a sunny afternoon. The only negative is the coach walk from the road up to the chalet and the same walk back down in the dark at 6am on return. Even though we were walking v cautiously and with phone torches, one of our party took a nasty fall on the sheet ice. We will be raising this directly with Crystal. We booked our package via iSKI who were very good. All in all, a wonderful chalet and holiday, in no small part thx to our brilliant chalet hosts. Thx u!

“Top quality”

Stayed in January 2020 and would rate this as the best Crystal Chalet we have stayed in over a period of 12 years. Stayed in January 2020 and would rate this as the best Crystal Chalet we have stayed in over a period of 12 years. Our room (Room 4) was huge, including an area with an extra bed, with TV showing UK channels, and excellent en suite facilities. Chalet hosts, Hannah and Lucy, were excellent, food quality good at all meals and the wine provided was a higher quality than normal. Access to slopes is easy as chalet is virtually ski in ski out with only a few yards to walk each way. Walk to Belle Plagne centre is about a 5 minute walk uphill if take shortcut through the apartment block half way up (2 lifts save climbing up via road). Belle Plagne is by far the nicest village in the group that comprise La Plagne and the ski area is fantastic. One added bonus was that Skiset provided transport to and from shop when collecting hired skis and then collected skis from boot room at end of the week.

“Lovely Chalet”

We stayed here in the last week of January 2019. The Julliette is a Crystal Finest and is a lovely spacious chalet, in a building with two others - the Hugo and the Viollette. There are seven bedrooms - we had an upstairs room in the attic. Watch out for the room numbers as they don't match the floor plan or the 360 deg visual on the Crystal Website! (The room we thought we were booking, room 6 looking at the plans, was in reality room 7, so we had to hang around whilst that was sorted out for us). Bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully clean, towels were changed mid stay, and Molton Brown toiletries were supplied. The beds were really comfy and rooms have a flatscreen TV with UK channels and there is also a hairdryer and a mirror in the room. The food was excellent (expect a lot of cheese!) - breakfast had a choice of cereals, yoghurt, pastries, bread/toast and jams and also a hot cooked option. There was a good choice of teas and coffees available at all times as well as squashes, coca cola and lemonade, and the afternoon cake was always excellent and different each day. The evening meal started with Prosecco and canapés, followed by a three course dinner with wines and then a cheeseboard with port and mints. A really nice touch was the fruit bowl and the mini chocolate bars also provided to take on the slopes. There's a sauna and a hot tub for guests to use and robes are provided in your bedroom. The boot room is on the lower floor accessed by a lift and although there are only a couple of seats, there was room in the other chalet's boot rooms if needed. The door to the boot room doesn't lock, but you do need the key code to access them from outside the chalet. It's a short walk to the slopes, where you can then ski down a short narrow access slope to the main blue piste down into Bellecotte to access the chair lifts and gondolas. At the end of the day, access back to the chalet is by the same short access slope off the blue piste - if you don't make it all the way up it then it's easy enough to side step or just take off your skis and walk - it's only a few yards! Some may find it easier to aim for the decking of the Carlina Hotel and then walk down a few steps to the chalets. If you want to walk up to the main shops in Belle Plagne it's an uphill walk taking about 15 mins, with access from the third floor of the chalet building and then a walk through snow up onto the road - this was a bit dodgy and needs to be improved as it was a tad dangerous when it had fresh snow! It needs a handrail and some lights! (We did cut through the Carlina Hotel a few times and this was met with mixed reactions from the receptionists). All the Crystal staff we met were fab - Jamie and Phil were both excellent Chalet Hosts and fab cooks - Jamie stole the show with his beef and ale pie and mash on the first night and his Victoria sponge cake for afternoon tea was amazing... however Phil topped the cakes with a Lemon Drizzle that disappeared pretty quickly! The Crystal Rep, Emily, was super helpful and was able to give lots of info and book activities for us. She also booked us our meal on the chalet staff's day off. Overall, a fab chalet and Jamie, Phil and Emily are a credit to CrystalSki!
