After reading some of the reviews I was a little bit worried about staying here, but we had a really great time. The food was excellent, room was fine, a little small, and the bathroom was nice. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. Only slight criticism was that it seemed a little disorganised on our first day and some things you had to figure out (such as the best way to get to the lifts, etc.) we would definitely stay here again.

“A mixed bag”

Good points: Check-in was quick and friendly. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a large bathroom, great shower, and good storage. Good points: Check-in was quick and friendly. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a large bathroom, great shower, and good storage. The room itself was fine size wise - pretty standard for ski accommodation. Bedding clean and towels changed when requested. Staff across the hotel were friendly and mostly helpful. Good choice of drinks on the all inclusive menu. Not so great: While there was a good selection of food for breakfast and dinner, it was invariably lukewarm to cold, which was a real shame as this spoiled some tasty dishes! The whole place (apart from the bedroom) was really chilly and a bit uninviting. There was nowhere comfy to sit and have a drink - a few sofas scattered around to sit with a wine and a book would have been lovely, particularly close to the fire. While we really tried our best to speak in French while there, English subtitles/translation during the entertainment would’ve really helped involve everyone in the fun, given the hotel had a large percentage of UK guests. Ski lockers were good, but flooring a real trip hazard in places, particularly the exit. Good to know: Ask for a room on a high floor and one with a toilet/shower together. Otherwise, you will be in a room with a toilet in a cupboard, like our daughter! The hotel is geared towards (and great for) families with young children as it has a crèche etc., so if you like a reasonable amount of peace and quiet you might want to stay elsewhere. It’s a 10 min walk to either the button lift or an elevator up to the Belambra, where you can ski down past the magic carpet. Our preference was the latter as you can get a bit of speed up to carry you round to the blue piste to start your day. Get in early for dinner as food runs out quickly and the good stuff doesn’t always get replenished!
