We stayed the first week in April 2012 during the British Easter school holidays. Be warned that there are 11 further chalets, housing 3 appartements each, which are not shown in their marketing photos and the one we stayed in added another 200m uphill climb to the ski lift. Our 8 year old son found this too much in ski boots. Fortunately we arranged to leave our rental skis with Ski Republic overnight. Ski storage at the property is near to each appartment and not in one location near reception, which would save carrying equipment a long way. It was an easy 15 minute taxi or bus ride from Landry train station(I recommend jaytaxi.fr at 30 euros each way). Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our two bedroomed appartement was modern and clean, but a little dusty and too dimly lit. Would not recommend for six persons as there is only one toilet and one small, uncomfortable sofa/ sofabed in the living/kitchen area. Pillows were very poor, not enough filling. The swimming pool is tiny, overcrowded and only has one shower. Les Coches is a nice ski resort with plenty of ski rental shops, a well stocked mini market, takeaway shop, speciality food shops which loan raclette, hot stone and fondue equipment free of charge and about five restaurants, of which la Taverne du Monchu was our favourite. Quite a few family activities and entertainments organised in and around the square. Access to Roche de Mio can be gained by taking Crozats and Inversens lifts, avoiding queues for the Roche de Mio lift from Plagne Bellecote. It was very warm during our stay and skiing around Roche de Mio and the glacier was much better compared with the slushy, mogulled pistes lower down. Very quick access from Les Coches to Les Arcs via Vanoise Express. We spent two days in Les Arcs, which we found was less crowded due to being more spread out and had less of the slushy conditions we experienced in La Plagne. We didn't wait too long at any lifts except in Plagne Bellecote. Would stay in les Coches again but would probably stay in an appartment nearer the ski lift even though it would probably be older and decoration might be a bit old fashioned.

“Good value apartments in great location”

We had a good week here. Apartment was good value and reasonable standard of accommodation by French ski standards. We had a good week here. Apartment was good value and reasonable standard of accommodation by French ski standards. Pros: Good location, 5 min walk to the ski lift, ski school meeting point, shops and bars etc. Good size apartment. Comfortable beds. Quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Underground parking was good (extra charge) Cons: We were in Chalet 11 which was separate to the main building. Had to go up a lot of external stairs through snow and ice to get to the car park, or street level. Ski lockers are underneath the building, very hard to get to and pretty much unusable. Nowhere to keep ski boots. We rented space at the ski shop next to the lift instead which worked very well. Apartment was clean apart from some grime around the shower door and heavy layer of dust on skirting boards. A few niggly maintenance issues which we reported to the reception team. Lots of extra charges for things like towels, linen etc. The usual end of stay cleaning charge which confuses me. Was the apartment cleaned for us by the previous guests?! If you pay to have the beds made up you still have to take the used linen up several flights of stairs at the end of the week (never had to do this before) Pool is very much in need of a spruce up.

“Nice chalet for skiing”

We stayed in Chalets de Wengen for a week for our ski vacation. I think the chalets are very nice with a contemporary decor which made it feel modern. Location to the ski lift is only a short walk however the road is slightly going up. In ski boots I thought this was a little bit tricky going down at the end of the day. But you can also rent a locker near the lift to put your gear and boots in. Les Coches is a very good place to situate yourself since it is right in between the ski areas of Les Arcs and La Plagne. Making it easy to go to both areas without having to take 6 lifts first. PRO'S - Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Cudos for the 2 ladies at the reception desk who were always willing to help and accomodate during our stay. They really made our stay better! - Location is close to ski lift - Appartments have a nice atmosphere CONS - The sauna area REALLY needs a good cleaning and update. The area is now a whirlpool in a very dirty looking room with mold on the walls everywhere. Just walking in makes you feel you will get a foot fungus at some point. The whirlpool was only luke warm when we were there. After skiing nice and hot water would have been so much better! The sauna is okay, but people do not use their towels so leave very large puddles of sweat..... For us this was once but never again which is a shame since we selected our accomodation based on the fact that it had a sauna. - They allow pets in the chalets. Which is not a problem in itself, but I think you should have a choice whether you want a pet-free chalet or not. Our couch smelled like dog for example. When we mentioned this the reception lady immediately had it replaced so that was good, but the thought that dogs are lying on the furniture is not to everybody's liking - I thought the reception hours were a bit tight. They only open at 17:00. You can enter the reception area with a code though, but if you need to arrange things or have questions, staff will only be there from 17:00. For a hotel this big I'd expect someone to be there all the time, or at least from 14:00 or so.
