From the moment we arrived after a long drive through France, it is clear that this beautiful, small hotel with its gastronomic restaurant is exceptional. Privately owned by the 3* Michelin Chef, Emmanuel Renaut and his charming, multi-lingual wife, Kristine, the warmth and efficiency of all members of staff was always apparent. Situated outside of Megeve the hotel has secure parking and a shuttle service to the Rochebrune Cable Car for quick access to the ski areas, or to Megeve’s charming centre, was essential and efficient. We did not need our own car once we had arrived. . We had one superb meal in the Flocons de Sel’s restaurant which was magnificent in every way. Breakfast in the restaurant is also superb although we only sampled it once as we prefer to get to the ski area early and breakfast there. We also dined in two of Mr&Mme Renaud’s other restaurants ( Le Prieure in town and Le Boistet (on the piste), both with the same ethos of friendly but efficient service and fine food. We were in Junior Suite 5 which is a lovely room to return to after a day’s skiing. Complimentary Cake and refreshments in the Salon were enjoyed in the lounge area of our suite as were the after dinner chocolates left by the turn down service. On the evenings when the restaurant was closed we took the room service option which was incredible as a chef is still on hand to create the dishes available and the meal was served in the salon or room as preferred. No burger and chips on a tray here!! The hotel also has a spa area which we did not use as the bath in our suite was preferable to us. We will be back, summer or winter. This hotel has it all.

Firstly, thank you to Kristine, Emmanuel and Gwen for making our 6 days at Flocon beyond compare. If you are looking for amazing hospitality without the pretense, there's probably no better place than Flocons. It's small and private but the Spa, service excellence and epicurean kitchen mean you never feel like there's a lack of amenities. It's location is a mile or two out of Megeve, but the Range Rover courtesy car is always available to take you in or out of town. We stayed in the Mazots which felt like living in your own private Alpine chalet with spectacular views down to Megeve. Everything is designed to blend into the environment. Many special moments, for example we bumped into Emmanuel one day who suggested he 'cooks something for us in the kitchen...nothing special' We ended up at the Chef's Table in his Michelin 3 star restaurant with him serving us a range of dishes including the best souffle we've ever tasted!

Hi we were lucky enough to stay in the cosy apartment above the bistro and cave in the centre of Megeve Village. It was such a lucky find! Cosy, with a lovely fireplace and minutes from the Chamois gondola. The Flocons de Sel hotel couldn' t have been more helpful, great communication and nothing was too much trouble. The bistro even helped us out with some fresh garlic and an extension lead when we had friends over for a raclette. The only thing that could have made it better were a few extra items in the apartment. A broom, some more kitchen utensils etc. and also a guide to how to use the oven? If there is anyway of adding a toilet to the downstairs bathroom that would make it perfect. Also it would be helpful if it was more clear that the 2nd bedroom is only suitable for under 12's. Or if the trundle was replaced with a full sized single bed. Wasn't a problem for us as the sofa bed in the living room was super comfy. Also I think the TV should be a smart TV so we could cast movies etc as sometimes a family after a long day skiing may want to just snuggle up and watch a movie. A TV in the master bedroom would also be great. Like I said I loved this place, these would just make it even better!

This is a delightful place in stunning surroundings. Impeccable service at the well-appointed and comfortable hotel. The Eggs Benedict at breakfast were by some margin the best I have ever had. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open and the only gripe was the service at the bistro in town where the service was disappointing: unfriendly and very slow (3 hours is a long time in a bistro with eternal waits between finishing each course and being attended to). The food was superb but as we were having a belated intimate meal to celebrate my daughter’s 18th it was not as memorable as hoped. The spa treatments at the hotel are excellent and we greatly enjoyed the Nordic Bath. The rooms are very comfortable indeed and we much appreciated the small touches on arrival as well as the consistently outstanding service from the staff at the hotel. Many thanks for a wonderful short break.
