Great apartment , had everything we needed , we were above the bar but didn't even realise it until we saw the bar from outside, hot tip take a large shopping bag on check in , you will be given your bedding pack and kitchen cleaning pack at check in , hard work trying to carry it all under your arm whilst carrying ski bag and suitcase .

“Le Hammeau apartments, great location , apartments need improvements”

Great location with genuine ‘ski in ski out’. Shops, bars & restaurants along with ski hire and lift passes all available in the development and covered parking opposite. However, the seven person duplex we stayed in was very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. All the paintwork was in poor condition, poor repairs to damaged walls and doors. No working extractor fans and no kitchen ceiling light only two low power under unit lights. The carpets were worn and stained and the staircase to the upper bedroom with the bunk beds in was so steep and narrow it would be unsuitable for young children. All of the freestanding furniture was in very poor condition. In addition, the apartment is too small for seven adults, four being the ideal number. The post stay cleaning is questionable as the bathroom sink plug was clogged with matted hair. That said, taking into account its location and price point in this area, it is hard to beat for value and convenience but would ideally suit friends skiing together rather than families. Based on this , we would stay again.

A good choice when looking for non-expensive accommodation on the slope, focusing on ski experience rather than housing experience. Directly on the slope almost in the center of Meribel valley, which is excellent if you want to explore the whole Les 3 Valles area because of the central location of Meribel Mottaret within Les 3 Valles. You can get different types of apartments in various conditions, but Odalys's site advertises only the best option (at least in my case of a 4-person studio) so be prepared to maybe get much older stuff than in the pictures. Like in the case of many ski apartments, it is worth booking a unit designed for more people to avoid a cramped experience. Expensive Wi-Fi is accessible only on reception, so you need enough mobile data. 5G or LTE download speeds vere good all the time, but upload speed was quite limited.

Positives: 1: The location is good and is almost ski in/out on the green run to the centre lifts. It is approximately 50 yards walk from the ski room to the slopes. 2: There are good services in the apartment block. A couple of bars, a well stocked small shop and ski shops. 3: There is a pedestrian lift that runs from near the reception to the centre of mottaret into the evening Negatives 1: the apartments are very dated and would benefit from some new furniture and decorating and modernising. They have the potential to be very good apartments but need some updating. 2: As is common with ski apartments they are quite small. There were only 2 of us in an apartment for 5 people. Whilst this was suitable for us anymore people and it would have been a struggle for space. There is limited storage space for clothes/equipment and also the kitchen area was very small. 3: Halfway through our stay the hot water was broken for 24 hours.
