You get the feeling that this hotel will be a bit old-fashioned but in fact the rooms, with their bathrooms and little kitchen units, feel nice and fresh. Madame at reception was friendly and helpful, and we were comfortable. There is no dedicated or secure parking but on-street parking adjacent is free. We don't usually have an hotel breakfast but here the 'express' breakfast - drink, juice and croissant - was just right. It's not too far to walk into the main street to find a restaurant. The only downside was the unreliability of the wi-fi. The building is a great example of France's late 19th/early 20th century Belle Epoque architecture which flourished when these spa towns were at the height of their popularity, and it's sad to see other buildings of the period nearby in such a run-down condition - or in one case burnt out.

There are a few things that can be said against this hotel, and therefore I will start with the negative points, but stick till the end of the review cos' this hotel is worth a visit. First of all the disappointments. they are minor. we had an issue with the keycard and I had to go back to reception twice to get it fixed. Second, the floor is still covered by old style carpeting, which has seen better days and need to be replaced. Finally, we had a breakfast buffet. Admitedely we arrived late (20 mn before the end) but we had no croissants or chocolate croissant left and they told us they had were out. Fonally the wifi was a bit sketchy but still available for free. Other than that our room was big, with a small kitchenette and very cosy. The hotel itself looks like what you could expect from a three stars establishement in a thermal city and we were happy to be in the atmosphere. It is well located in front of the Thermes and close to the historic city center. And the price is really reasonnable for the quality of what you get.

“Quiet low season stay”

Stayed in this quiet French spa town in April during the low season, very reasonable price for a double room, bed a bit on the small side, clean kitchenette, room with view, no hassle. Did not try the restaurant. Recommended.
