Returning to the Four Seasons Hotel Megève for a second stay was a pleasure. Since our previous visit, the property has earned the prestigious Palace distinction, an accolade reserved for France’s finest hotels and one that carries the expectation of exceptional service, facilities, and attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and pleasantly recognized from our stay the previous year. We were also graciously upgraded to a Mountain View room, a thoughtful gesture that was sincerely appreciated. Our room, while on the smaller side, was beautifully designed with refined finishes and excellent craftsmanship. Diptyque amenities are provided throughout, and one feature that deserves special recognition is the hotel’s air conditioning. Unlike many luxury mountain resorts that either lack air conditioning altogether or offer systems with limited cooling capacity, the Four Seasons Megève provides a true, efficient air-conditioning system that maintains a comfortable temperature even during the warmer summer months—an increasingly valuable amenity that many competing luxury properties fail to offer. One disappointment remains the choice of bed linens. Four Seasons uses custom-branded linens manufactured in China and other Asian countries across its portfolio. While the quality is acceptable, at room rates ranging from approximately €1,000 to €4,000 per night, one could reasonably expect a renowned luxury European linen house such as Frette. It appears to be a corporate decision, but one that feels somewhat inconsistent with the standards associated with a Palace hotel. Dinner at Edmond’s was refined and enjoyable, showcasing quality ingredients and careful execution, although pricing is undeniably premium. Breakfast offers a generous selection of fresh, high-quality products. However, on several occasions, buffet items remained empty until guests—including ourselves—requested that they be replenished. Such oversights should be uncommon at this level of hospitality. Valet parking is available but comes at an additional charge of €35 per night, a fee that feels difficult to justify given the already significant nightly room rates. The wellness facilities are among the hotel’s highlights. The indoor and outdoor pools are beautifully designed and invite relaxation after a day in the mountains. The fitness center, while equipped with quality machines, is somewhat modest in size for a Palace property. Spa treatments, although undoubtedly luxurious, are priced at a level that many guests may find excessive. The hotel’s greatest strength is undoubtedly its setting. Surrounded by the Alps, it offers a sophisticated mountain retreat with elegant architecture, warm contemporary interiors, and a luxurious yet understated atmosphere. Service throughout our stay was consistently warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. As is often the case in seasonal mountain destinations, many employees are young and enthusiastic, although additional training in certain areas would further elevate the guest experience to the level expected of France’s highest hotel distinction. Guests should also keep their expectations realistic: while Four Seasons Megève is an outstanding luxury resort, it does not yet deliver the extraordinary level of personalized, intuitive, and flawless service found at iconic flagship properties such as the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris. Overall, Four Seasons Megève remains one of the finest luxury mountain resorts in the French Alps. Its spectacular location, beautiful design, excellent air conditioning, and welcoming atmosphere make it an address we are happy to revisit. Although a few operational details and service refinements would better align it with the expectations of its Palace status, it remains a highly recommended destination for travelers seeking refined alpine luxury.

We stayed at the hotel in early March as a group of friends. It’s been a few years since I’ve travelled to a four seasons and it’s everything I remembered. The staff treat you like a rockstar even if you don’t look like one. Every single aspect of our trip was supported and covered to perfection, from the breakfast staff, to the concierge, the ski shop and front desk they are all beautiful human beings, human, real and at the very top of their craft. Not once did they put a foot wrong. I damaged my phone upon arrival in Geneva and within an hour at the hotel they had a solution to get it fixed for me whilst I was on the slopes. Their restaurant reservations were perfect and very fitting for occasion. As beautiful as the hotel restaurants are, I would recommend going into the local village at least one night as it’s very quaint and the restaurants have a wonderful vibe and nice to walk around outside after a hard day skiing. In terms of facilities, and rooms, please do no worry we had one of the smallest rooms and was fabulous, it’s been a while since I slept so well. In regards to the skiing, I was very surprised at the quality of skiing, it’s been years since I’ve found such impeccable conditions especially in March. They comb and groom the slopes every night plus the ski in ski out facility at the hotel works like a dream. This is a fairly quiet facility perfect if you want some privacy and to get away from the crowds of more tourist areas. I thought it may have been too quiet for me but loved every minute and can’t wait to go back. I’d give it 7 stars if I could. First class
