“Maybe Budget but the service is Excellent”

The staff at this hotel are great and cannot be more helpful. I have stayed at this hotel many times and the staff have always been helpful to an Englishman abroad! The centre of town is but a short walk away and the Chateau of Compiegne is not to be missed. I will be returning in 2022 I assure you.

We spent a nice extended weekend in this hotel. It has very convenient location across the main bridge from the train station which is also the hub for intercity and city busses. The hotel is located on a small side street near the river Oise. Compiegne is quite a small and quiet place expecially during night so we could sleep window open which gave us relaxing sleep. What the official pictures do not show the rooms of this hotel are partially renovated. So furniture and bathroom tabs are new Ibis style but some things like the texture of the walls reminds of the older days of this former Accor Etep hotel. On some things this is a bonus what comes for example to the size of the room which is a little bigger than current Ibis standards. There is for example space to open two big size suitcases and bathroom has a good space for enjoying your shower. There were however couple fittings which shows the age. First and foremost there were no smoke detector in the room. This may be allowed according the Frence legislation but I would no expect this on any Accor brand hotel. This should be highlighted because the rooms are heated by electronic radiators which in itself may cause a risk for fire if eg. covered by clothes. The second little shortcoming was the smallish Philips brand flat panel tv which was outdated. The service was mostly good to very good. They obeyed perfectly our demand for a quiet room and answered promptly my email on chek out. The also gave us advice for the cinema and other leisure offerings. This would not be France if one of the staff members would not have given us (this happened before noon 28th April) one of our worst service experiences ever. We were departing for sightseeing and decided to take coffee from the automatic wending machine in the reception (this costs 1,60 Euros for cappucino). We sat with the coffees to the tables near the reception desk. When arriving to the reception desk, the woman started by asking firmly our room number. We did in no way approach her but she clearly suspected that we vere not staying in the hotel. When we sited the correct room number she suggested that we should move to drink the coffees bought from them in the rooms.. When I told her that we were on a way out she finally gave up. There were no information anywhere that hotel quests are not allowed to sit 5 minutes near the reception drinking coffee bought from the hotel. All in all we would however stay in this comfy small hotel. We would however appreciate more thorough renovation of the rooms (eg. total remake of the painted surfaces and adding the smoke detectors). Hotel has a staff with warm heart and they could offer even more seevices that the hotel currently offers.

Clean and comfortable in good location what else do you need? Yes the rooms are on the small side but more than adequate. We managed to get a space for the car outside while we checked in ( earlier than stated time of 12). We then moved the car to the main car park by the river which is free on the right hand side. Staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was fresh with good choice. Well worth the price

“One night pit stop ”

A quick one night stay on our way to the Loire. Good points: the price, WiFi, reception staff, room seemed clean However, the hotel does not have parking and we were directed to a public car park near the river. Instead we parked at the chateau as seemed a better location. It did a job!
