NOTE: I am submitting this review PRE-STAY. My partner and I are busy planning our first trip to Paris in mid-September later this year. After reviewing countless potential accommodations for a 7-night stay (mostly boutique hotels which came highly recommended by the likes of Rick Steves & Les Frenchies) we have set our sights on the Hotel Abbatial St Germain. So why a TA review eight months prior to our visit? Simply put, Hotel Abbatial's reception staff have been a delight to correspond with. I can certainly put a day-manager's patience to the test with incessant questions concerning size variations within a stated room category, floor/position within the hotel, balcony size, etc., etc. Most notably, requesting room number guarantees for a stay during one of their busiest weeks of the year, months before their check-in grid is drafted for that Trade-show week. In truth, they haven't been able to say YES to all my requests, but what is so refreshing is that they have responded generously and immediately each morning, day after day, without a hint of exasperation to my ongoing overnight inquiries. Always polite. Always friendly, with no lack of relevant detail. During this process, I've reached out to many other Parisian establishments without the favor of a reply. So Bravo Hotel Abbatial! We can hardly wait to secure our booking and spend 7 glorious nights with you in the 5th St Germain come mid September. Merci beaucoup!

“Great location, nice boutique hotel but heed a little warning of room choice”

I'm going to start with the positives first. Nice boutique hotel and a really great location! Fantastic location to so many great local places. Award winning bakery literally across the street, more of a neighborhood feel vs main thick of tourists everywhere which I liked, easy walk to Notre Dame. Very good breakfast with eggs ect. I appreciated that. But I'm going to heed some warnings to fellow travelers. Now this my fault for not reading the details better on the Junior Suite room. This room is GROUND FLOOR STREET LEVEL. Your windows (that you cannot open) are literally at the sidewalk where people walk next too and where every morning at 7;00am the garbage trucks come to get trash cans and it is loud. But the real killer was construction was going on and 7;30am you felt like drills were coming through the wall. Now I brought this up to the manager because I felt for the price you were paying this room should NEVER be bookable with construction zone going on. I appreciated that he did comp me a night but still felt that if construction is on going, that room should never be booked out EVER. Needless to say, I'd check before you book if that construction is still on going or it is finished. Also the fact that your only fresh air is a small high above easement window, and personally it was a bit strange to me to not be able to look outside since windows are completely frosted for privacy. They do have a good AC system in the room. I also felt that they needed a power exhaust fan in the bathroom cause wow it gets STEAMY - just a suggestion to management. Also a clothing wardrobe would have been nice, not too much of a scenario to hang clothing except very small little rack. Room is very big but it comes with some downsides so please be aware of this. Would we stay at this hotel again, yes, I really liked it but I would definitely not book this suite room for our next stay. Room was cleaned daily and hotel had a nice little area in the lobby to sit, read ect. Staff was really nice and so was management.

“Small rooms”

The hotel location is excellent.The rooms are very small .The breakfast is just ok .. no fresh fruits or a good selection of food . It’s a small hotel .In the bathroom the water was not very hot .. it seem they regulate the temperature for all the rooms .
