The hotel is on a very "traditional" Paris street in the 11th. One of only two (with the neighboring 12th) districts that have retained much of their parisian charm. The facade is beautiful and shows the history of the building (and indeed the neighborhood) as a wood working factory. The lobby is calm and cool, the receptionists charming and friendly. At the same level is the hotel bar and some comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy your drink. Our room was very quiet as it looked onto the interior courtyard and the air conditioning was effective even in a hot spell. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was excellent and the choice both wide and of high quality. The spa on the lower ground floor was really very nice, especially as the pool is very cool compared to many overly heated places. Although small, the pool was equipped with a good number of jets and other massage elements. I didn't have any treatments but I spoke with someone who did and they were reported as being of high quality. Th spa, our room and the hotel in general was spotless and the cleaning staff omnipresent. The area is fantastic for restaurants, wonderful specialist coffee shops, and so much more. Plus if you prefer walking to the metro, you can easily walk to Notre Dame, rue de Rivoli, the jardin des plantes, le marché aux fleurs, the Marais, Bastille, Place Vendôme and so much more. Well worth it on a warm summer morning.

“Nice stay”

Charming top-floor room with beautiful glass windows, bright and airy, with a lovely balcony and a great view. Beautiful Spa with a magnificent pool with a stunning glass roof. Good food and great drinks. Friendly staff and good service.

I'm just back from a flying visit (three nights) to Paris and used the opportunity to try out a new hotel for me, the Boutet Bastille. Happy to report that it was a good choice. I find I'm staying in Accor hotels more and more these days, certainly in France but also in Europe more widely. But it's only my second stay in a MGallery establishment (the other being in Lyon, also reviewed on this website). They are not cheap but you get what you pay for and I was well looked after. The Boutet Bastille is in a former industrial building (something to do with chocolate, I believe) in a quietist street in a really nice part of town not far from the Place de la Bastille. There was no street noise in the room at all, nor did I hear my neighbours within the hotel - absolutely the most important thing for me when staying somewhere. My room was large with all the usual things you expect in a high-end establishment. But I must mention the amazing shower - possibly the most powerful I've come across in a hotel. And the breakfast served in the room was spot-on, with the cooked bit arriving hot, which isn't always the case. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. There's no restaurant in the hotel (apart from breakfast) but there are loads in the surrounding streets.

Compared to other outstanding 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in in EU and UK this is in my experience not a 5* but more a 4 *hotel. Its best feature was most of its lovely staff including Moonda,Coralie,and Luca, The room design was not easy to move around in; mattress sagged a bit on outside, coffee service in an awkward corner. Bathroom best feature with great shower, products and towels. Only chair in room was wood and not comfortable. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly mediocre in offerings. I was successful only twice in getting a fruit bowl that did not include an ingredient I am allergic to. Breakfast staff very nice though. My in-room phone did not work for 8 of the 10 days there despite daily requests at front desk to fix it. Coralie tried to fix phone early in stay but was unsuccessful. I had to go down to lobby with any requests. Finally Luca appeared with housekeeping staff 2 days before checkout and asked if I needed anything. He was not aware of nonworking phone but when pointed out was able to fix prob w jack.
