I had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. The location is excellent, surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants, and I really loved the atmosphere of the neighborhood. I was initially concerned about possible sewage smells mentioned in some reviews, but I experienced none at all during my two-night stay. I requested a courtyard-facing room, which was very quiet and perfect for sleeping. The room isn’t large, but it’s very well designed, with a comfortable bed, a good shower and toilet setup, and even a small desk. Everything feels modern and practical. Breakfast was very good—simple but good quality. The only minor downside is the lack of high tables, as seating is mostly lounge-style. Tip: Ask for a room that’s not on the street side for a quieter stay. Overall, for the price, it’s an excellent option with a great location and comfortable, modern rooms.

The beds are wonderfully comfortable (like all citizenM's), The staff is so so nice, the bar is good, and the location is terrific. But as a few reviews have mentioned, there is some kind of problem with the ventilation system and there is a sewage smell that comes and goes. It didn't ruin my experience, but it's why I knocked off a star from an otherwise terrific stay. If they could just fix this problem I would unreservedly recommend the place, but as it stands, if you are sensitive to smells, this might bother you a lot. If you aren't particularly sensitive to smells, It might not. (I am somewhere in between. It bothered me, but not so much that I felt like leaving. Indeed, I'd go back --the pros outweighed the con for me for sure, but I really really really wish they would fix the smell problem.) Fyi, like all citizen M's, the rooms are very compact and it's better suited to one person or a couple that doesn't mind being in a small space. It's honestly completely perfect for me--the bed is huge and comfortable and the shower is good and I don't need a lot of floor space, and I'm generally traveling alone. But know that if you are traveling with a friend, you will be sharing a bed, and if you both pack heavily, you may puzzled as to where you put your luggage! (As a single person I had no problem and it was plenty of room for me.) But this is why the hotel is at such a good price in such a good location with such a nice bed. If you are like me, you will love citizen M's, but it's not necessarily what everyone is looking for. My mom would hate it lol. Oh, and one tip if you are at this location, there is a steak frites place a block away (ask the hotel staff-- they will definitely have it on their recommendation list) that is delicious and you should totally eat there. All they have is steak frites, a chicken frites, and a smash burger on the main menu, but they are all delicious and the sauce they serve with them is really incredible. The dessert menu is terrific too and I had some lovely wine. The staff is super friendly too and I ended up chatting with people at adjoining tables because it was just that kind of place. It's L'Atelier something -- ask the hotel staff. They are reasonably priced for Paris and they actually have a really good lunch deal.
