Only booked this hotel for one night as our flight was changed to a day earlier and our main hotel couldn’t accommodate us. Arrived pretty late at night so door was locked and had to ring for service. Surly receptionist who was nowhere to be seen didn’t seem to like being disturbed. Check in was quick. Our room was on the top floor in the attic and was very nice and quite spacious. It was clean and tidy and had sweets scattered on the bed which was comfy. The nicest surprise was a beautiful cast iron bath in the room itself and I was sad that I wouldn’t be able to make use of it because it was too late. From out of the sloping roof window you could see the Eiffel Tower in the distance across the rooftops. Upon checkout next morning, once again there was no one about. We rang the bell a couple of times and waited fifteen mins but still no one came. This left us with a problem of our luggage which we would’ve liked to be stored. Luckily our next hotel let us check in at 10.00am so we didn’t have to lug it about all day. All in all a nice hotel but spoiled by the lack of warmth from the staff. We wouldn’t stay again just because of that which is a shame.

Nice little hotel on a quiet side street a few blocks from Republique area. The reception staff seemed very friendly. I had a Standard Double room and it was a good size room with lots of space to walk around the bed. Had a desk and a small closet. No place to put your luggage though, except for the desk or on the ground. The bed was comfortable and curtains kept the light out in the morning. It was odd, but after my first night, my card key didn't work. I went down to have it reprogrammed, and was told that I had to do it every day. I guess it's for security, which I can understand, though I never had to do that in any other hotel in the world. The one thing I didn't like was the bathroom. In fact, I hated it. The sink was tiny and there was no space on the vanity at all put your toiletries except for maybe your toothbrush and toothpaste. The vanity was behind the front door, so there was a door stop on the ground at the base of the sink that was in the perfect position to stub your toe every time you go to use the sink. The shower and toilet were in a small room that smelled like mildew. The side of the toilet is only 2" (4cm) from the wall. I'm thin and always rub against the cold tiled wall. If you're "wide" good luck. The shower is just a curtained off area next to the toilet. Even with the shower curtain water floods the entire bathroom after a shower. Finally, the WiFi is so so. I did a speed test and the download speed was 1mbps then tested again a few minutes later. It was up to 20mbps. It was quite spotty.
