We stayed 5 nights at des Gobelins in July. My family and I had a great stay. The rooms are a little on the small side, but we booked two rooms for the 4 of us and the hotel was very accommodating to have them beside one another. It was tough to have two suitcases open and walk freely around room, but was not that big of a deal. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and bright. The street in front of the hotel can be noisy, but with the windows closed, it was surprisingly quiet. Washrooms were clean and larger than expected. Big lobby, so not crowded when checking in. The hotel was close to Metro stations (and Buses) so very easy to get around. Lots of nice Boulangerie, restaurants and grocery stores within easy walking distance from hotel. The neighbourhood seems vibrant and safe. It was easy to get from the major attractions to the hotel as well, so it was not a hassle to go back in the afternoon to have a break. Our rooms had A/C so was very comfortable temperature, as Paris was very hot when we were there. We choose not to have the breakfast, so cannot comment on that. The hotel does have an elevator, but it is very small and tight, so quicker to use stairs if you can. Overall it was a great stay. If you are looking for a nice little hotel for good value, I would recommend Des Gobelins.

“Good option for a solo work/leisure trip”

Stayed 3 nights for a work+leisure trip in a single room. The hotel is well located for metro and the airport train. Checking was friendly and quick. There is always someone on reception- you leave your room key with them. The single room was small but not cramped and had a wardrobe, small safe and a kettle. The bathroom was also small but big enough. No stale drain smells as sometimes happens in old buildings and the hot water arrived quickly with excellent pressure. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast did not include anything hot but there were plenty of options- I appreciated the fruit salad which not all hotels provide. I would stay again, and can recommend the hotel and the area as a good base away from the more popular tourist parts.

“Good place for a night”

We stayed one night at this hotel. The rooms and bathroom are quite small which is typical in Paris. The bed was comfortable and the A/C worked well so we did not have to keep our window open at night to the street below. Room furniture a bit tired but overall for one night, a good stay

Stayed here 3 nights with partner & 11yr old daughter. Breakfast is available but we opted to obtain breakfast from local cafes or boulangeries, however another resident stated breakfast was good & varied. We had 2 conjoining rooms, one was very small but ample for an 11yr old, plus meant she had her own bathroom. Bathroom in the bigger room was small & a bit of a tight squeeze to get into shower. Showers were adequate & plenty of towels provided. No USB charge points in room so bring adapter, free WiFi is a bonus. Hotel was lovely inside, a bit tired in places but added to the Parisian vibe. Location is brilliant if u don't want to be surrounded by tourists, Notre Dame only a 30 min walk away, as is Catacombs in other direction. 3 different Metro lines within 10 min walk of hotel, buses stop almost just outside hotel so sightseeing is a breeze. There are plenty of restaurants, bistro, cafes, food stores, boulangeries etc within minutes of the hotel. We would definitely come back to this hotel, staff were pleasant & spoke Emglish well when our poor French faltered.
