Brand new hotel still in opening phase offering a pristine product. Great staff all across the departments. A very big thank you to Dramane, from Housekeeping, who moved mountains to rearrange the bedding and turn it to feather-free. A very nice stay.

The Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Vilette is a modern and nice property a bit outside from the Paris city centre. Around the hotel you have a very easy and safe access to the metro that takes you to the centre in around 20 minutes. The surrounding areas also offers some supermarkets and restaurants/cafes. Therefore we considered the hotel as a very convenient location for our 4 night stay. The hotel itself is modern, clean and offers nice facilities. The rooms are spacious and modern. However, it has to be noted that the windows cannot be opened. The AC does a good job but if you are keen to have fresh air you should think twice as at some point we felt like that even the best AC cannot replace fresh air. The beds are really comfortable but we didn’t enjoy the pillows. For us they were too thin and taking the extra ones did not help a lot. During our stay we noted that a lamp was broken in the bathroom and the hotel fixed it immediately. Also even though the bathroom made a very clean impression and was also cleaned well on a daily basis we felt like that it could need some deeper cleaning here and there soon. The rooms offer everything you need for a city trip including a small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and enough storage space. There is also fresh water provided at water stations near the elevators. That is very convenient! The breakfast offers a good standard. It is not a luxurious one but fair for a city hotel and it fueled us for the day. There is a fresh waffle maker and eggs dishes like omelets can be ordered. The waffle maker is a bit complicated to use if you haven’t done so before and during our stay we observed guests struggling with it which mostly lead to more work for the staff who had to help and do extra cleaning. We would highly recommend to provide better instructions to use! The hotel also offers a restaurant but we did not try it. Neither we tried the gym but it looked nice! The lobby is welcoming and offers space to hang around as well as a little shop to buy drinks and accessories. We would like to point out that all members of staff were really kind and helpful. We would like to especially thank Adrien who stood out to us in his professional and very warm and kind service that always made us leave with a smile.

This was our first time in Paris and as Gold Members we wanted to try and stick to the Hilton brand. The Hiltons in the city were double or triple the price. We found the staff to be very helpful and our room was larger than expected. The breakfast was very good (and free) and it was truly a modern hotel. The location is terrible and I blame myself for not putting more time in researching that. It’s not safe and a very run down portion of the city. The hotel was out of laundry detergent and it was a rough experience going down the street to find some. We ended up using Uber a lot to get into the city just to avoid the area and the sketchy metro. The AC in the room is not strong at all. The laundry is free but a load will take you over 3 and a half hours to complete. There’s one washer and a drier on its last legs. We would not stay here again due to the location but the building and staff were above average.

The Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette was a solid value stay for Paris, especially since hotels closer to the main attractions can get very expensive quickly. The hotel is close to the metro, so getting around the city was still pretty convenient. One feature I genuinely appreciated was the laundry room. If you plan on using it, bring a laundry pod or two with you. They do charge a small fee for detergent if needed, but it can be billed directly to your room. Washing and drying were free, which was honestly a great perk for a longer international trip. One thing Americans should know though: the dryers are more like home-use dryers, not industrial hotel dryers. Clothes can easily take 2-3 hours to fully dry, so plan accordingly. As a Hilton Gold member, breakfast was another nice benefit with a good variety of options each morning. I also appreciated that the hotel had a microwave in the lobby area, which is surprisingly rare in many hotels overseas. The area itself is not one of the more affluent or tourist-heavy parts of Paris, and there were moments where it felt a little sketchy, especially later at night. That said, I personally still felt safe overall. I was also traveling with a group staying at nearby hotels, which helped. My advice would simply be to use Uber or another rideshare if you’re coming back very late at night instead of walking around too much. Now for the downside, and unfortunately it was a MAJOR one for me: the WiFi was honestly TERRIBLE . Constant disconnects, difficulty staying connected, and the Chromecast never worked properly, so streaming was basically impossible. I understand I’m in France and French television is expected, but there was really only one English-speaking channel available, so without reliable WiFi it became frustrating trying to relax at night. Would I recommend this hotel for travelers wanting a more budget-friendly Paris option away from the main tourist areas? Absolutely. Would I personally stay here again? Probably not. As an American traveler, reliable WiFi matters a lot, especially when managing international phone plans and travel connectivity, and unfortunately that part of the experience really missed the mark for me.
