This is a room review based on a Junior Suite: Classic Parisian boutique hotel. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable (hard mattress, but I'd rather have a hard mattress in a hotel than a saggy soft one). My family of four (two children aged 10 and 7) had plenty of room to use as mostly a place for sleeping. The trundle bed when pulled out takes up a lot of the open space in the room and the bathroom is tight but has everything needed (shower, sink, toilet) but minimal counter space. My wife would have liked to have had more space for toiletries, makeup and clothes, but that was not a dealbreaker for this room. It can be difficult to find hotel rooms in Paris that can hold four people unless you go with a massive international chain, which I find to be a bit too sterile and loses a lot of the personality that makes Paris so great. Hotel de La Motte Picquet is a great choice for a room large enough for a family. My initial search was based on a Rick Steves recommendation and I can confirm it is very much a RS style boutique hotel. Location: Excellent. Right next to Rue Cler made this an easy and enjoyable home base. As with most of Paris, easy access to the Metro. We used an Uber/Taxi to take us to the train station and pickup was easy here as well. I have been to Paris many times and I think I've found the hotel I would make a return trip to.

“Great location, great staff”

A small hotel, ideally located next to the lovely Rue Cler and the Ecole Militaire metro station. Great for eating out with lots of cafes. A small hotel, ideally located next to the lovely Rue Cler and the Ecole Militaire metro station. Great for eating out with lots of cafes. It’s a relatively affluent residential area as well as a tourist area, which presents a good balance: it feels safe and friendly. The hotel has exceptional staff, always ready to help, and is scrupulously clean. In common with other Parisian hotels, the rooms are small, but we had the grandly titled duplex, which gave us more room. It felt like being in an artist’s garret (which we liked). Full size bathroom was a bonus.

“Genuine European hotel experience”

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, and close to shopping and cafes. There is a metro station about a block away and it's a great way to get around the city. It's nice to walk the streets of regular Paris neighborhoods, away from the tourist areas. My tip:… more

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, and close to shopping and cafes. There is a metro station about a block away and it's a great way to get around the city. It's nice to walk the streets of regular Paris neighborhoods, away from the tourist areas. My tip: take the Metro to the Montmartre neighborhood. The hotel itself is a typically small, older European hotel. The rooms are small and a bit dated. But they are clean, and you don't go to Paris to stay in your room all day. The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us advice and directions. I can recommend this hotel.
