What can I say about this hotel? I knew it was pricey against where I usually stay but this hotel was totally amazing. There has been nothing to complain about whatsoever. The staff are polite, attentive and kind, from the cleaners, to reception, to the waiters. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a non balcony room that faced the main street with a bar below. It had no impact for us in term of bar noise. The beautiful french doors could seal well and I think, trip glazed. We had the best sleep, comfy beds, pillows, and there was air con, which set at 19, made our sleep perfect. In fact, this morning, on my last morning, I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in! Parisian hotel rooms are generally known for being smaller, but our room had enough space, was clean and the bathroom large. The shower churned out plenty of hot, hot water and the extra shampoos etc, which smelled divine, were welcome complementary extras. We chose to have their breakfast included and I am so glad we did. I can recommend the omlette followed by fruit and their granola.... honestly, kept us full all day. Waiters always smiling and helpful - especially Arthur, thank you. The location is superb. The metro is right there, couple of quick metro rides to wherever you want, including Gard de Nord, or you can walk from Gard de Nord. We walked pretty much everywhere from the hotel. including the Eiffel Tower (got a metro one way). There's also a wonderful chocolate shop that is a must, and a quick walk from the hotel. Debauve & Gallais - go get your "Marie Antoinette Pistoles". The ambiance of the hotel, the garden room where breakfast is, and the roof top bar, make this place a must. I totally recommend the comfort, the sleep, the staff. Thank you all! Very, very happy stay.

The Grand Boulevard Experimental has a very warm and caring staff. Sometimes we as Americans find ourselves on the outside since we do not speak French but not so at theGBE. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The front desk always greeted us with warm smiles and bright response. The dining staff remembered our likes and promptly responded to our needs. Even housekeepers tried to converse with us. The room was spacious and very clean and the hotel is located near many restaurants.

I think much will depend on what you are looking for and the room you get. Pros: incredibly central location, there is a metro right outside the hotel as well as bus, but much is walkable. The room I had was gorgeous, up in the attic part (an eaves room), it felt incredibly spacious, his and her sinks, a full closet, mini bar, Nespresso machine, tea kettle, free water and bathtub. Great bedding as already mentioned. The windows were relatively sound proof and I did not hear anyone in the hall. There is a cute airy bar/restaurant in the atrium with lots of light. Housekeeping was excellent and the little touches like turn down were much appreciated. Almost everyone at reception was very friendly. Cons: Not their fault, central Grands Boulevard is a rather ugly big street and there is a great deal of traffic. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs because there are still sirens etc. Minor con, non Nespresso capsules (just a pet peeve of mine). There are no amenities in the hotel, no spa, no gym, and as someone mentioned, not really a lobby either save a few benches that you can sit on and you might not want to sit there for long as, 1. you are by the door, and people are in and out for the restaurant who are not staying at the hotel. Green points: water container is recyclable, I believe coffee capsules were the compostable type, you can hang your towel so that it is not refreshed, the toiletries are attached to the wall (although cons to the hygiene of this), and there was a bin for recycling. But I got an excellent price in the middle of winter so I think the comfort of the room (which I have just been told is one level below the junior suite category) was way worth what I paid. I did not try the breakfast so I cannot comment on that. But if the price was significantly higher I am not sure the lack of amenities or even the lack of lobby would be enough to stay again.
