My 18-year old grandson and I have just returned from a 3-night stay at Hotel Minerve. What a lovely hotel! Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. We had superior single rooms, 106 and 206, which were identical. The double beds were very comfortable. There was a kettle and a good choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The bathrooms were small but plenty big enough for us, with good quality toiletries and towels. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the housekeeping lady was lovely. The location is excellent, with the Seine and Notre Dame a short walk away and lots of cafes and restaurants in the area. As other reviews state, the lift is tiny (just big enough for 2 people with suitcases), but it does the job if you can't make the stairs. We only had breakfast on our first morning, as it was quite expensive, but the food was good (choice of hot and cold food, fresh fruit, juices, cereals, cold meats, cheeses etc). Again the staff were efficient and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel; a very pleasant experience.

I had a great time and they were really nice and helpful. I felt very safe as a 19 year old girl on a solo trip.

This is my first time in Paris. I have to say this hotel contribute a wonderful experience during my tour. First, every worker at the reception is polite and enthusiastic. They helped me a lot even after my check-out. Second, the cleaners are dutiful and replace the towels and sheets every day. Every time when we see each other, they would nod to me and say Bonjour monsieur. So delighted and make my day! Finally, if I have opportunity to come to Paris again, I still want to live this hotel next time.

For EUR 200 per night, I would like the room to be a bit better equiped. I understand the building is old and rooms are renovated in order to 'cater' to 21st century requirements, but it did not completely work out that way. The sink in the room has no space at all to put your toilet bag on, and I don't like showering in an area that becomes completely inundated with water as there is no proper shower cabin. The floor of the shower/toilet area was not cleaned properly. Further more, I do take umbrage when reception staff are eating there meal behind the reception desk. Very unprofessional indeed. I would not go back to this hotel as there are other options available.
