First of all, the location. We arrived from Stuttgart into Gare de l'est, then left the following day on Eurostar. Location could not have been better. Room for quite small but very comfy. excellent shower and bathroom. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly when I rolled in late without a key.

“Excellent in every way”

Of course the location is wonderful for the Gare du Nord, but also we found this little hotel wholly delightful. The beds were comfortable, the shower was excellent+. Of course the location is wonderful for the Gare du Nord, but also we found this little hotel wholly delightful. The beds were comfortable, the shower was excellent+. The breakfast room is small - indeed when very busy might be quite intimate - but they provide a delicious and copious spread. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending and could well use again.

This is a great little hotel and glad we stayed. A friend also had a positive experience. Our Room was comfortable and despite facing onto the street was very quiet at night, two lots of window kept all street noise out. Bathroom with shower and the Hotel is very clean and tidy throughout. It is very close to the Gare du Nord, you just cross a road and go 20 yards or so down the Rue de St Quentin and you are there. There is also an entrance to the Paris Metro where you cross the road from the station. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and speak excellent English (special mention to Marilena and Karl). Reception is always staffed. There is no bar as such or restaurant but you could have a drink if you wanted and the foyer area is private and is where Breakfast is served. However, there are numerous cafe’s and bars nearby. Two little supermarkets are close by. Note that the area around the Gare du Nord is a bit rough around the edges (check city reviews) and we ate out in the central tourist areas, returning from a day out later in the evening. This worked really well. Breakfast is a buffet with cheeses (6 types), cold meats (4 types), breads, pastries, fruits etc, a couple of days there were home made cakes and quiches. All excellent. If you want hot then scrambled eggs and sausages were also available. It is a really good base for the city and so close to the Eurostar, 20 mins stroll to Sacre Coeur, straight down the metro to Notre Dame. I found the metro layout tricky to decipher, print a map out before you go, the Navico cards you can buy at stations (or on Eurostar) are easy to use. We did not use the Hammam facilities of room service.

The hotel has a location walking distance (2 minutes) from Gare du Nord which has a direct 30 minute train to Charles De Gaule Airport. But don't expect a 4 star hotel. The good: -Location -Great water pressure and hot water -Upgraded rooms -Good windows to keep the street noise out (you need it) -Comfortable bed. Renovated room. The Not so good: -Upgraded toilet was built for 12 year olds. Not adult size at all. -Cannot control the temperature in your room. Controlled by the front desk and its a daily call to set what temperature you'd like. Opening the window is very noisy at times and especially late on weekends, so not a great option at night. -No mini fridge. We need one and they did try to accommodate with their kitchen fridge near the lobby, Its a simple and required appliance in most hotels.. but not here. -We had the worst breakfast of our trip. Cold runny eggs liquids (masquerading as eggs), cold sausage, bread had to be put in the toaster 3 times to get any color on it, Coffee tasted like a chemical bath of fake milk and coffee (gross), all that for 17 euros each! Don't have the breakfast at the hotel. Much better options just outside the hotel. -The safe is at foot level, so you have to go down on your knees to enter the code and use it. Again, convenient location in a more "diverse" part of town. Its near the train station so lots of homeless, vagrants, scammers, and new immigrants begging outside the hotel. Some mental health issues on the street may keep you up at night. some nights good some well, you'll need to make sure your window is closed. That's just the location. Expect a smaller tight room without some of the usual basic expectations missing (fridge, Thermostat that you can control, a toilet seat made for adults) but for one night in transit through Paris, it may be ok but don't expect a 3-4 star hotel here.
