My friend and I really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this lovely, characterful hotel in a fantastic central location. Apart from getting a taxi to visit L'Opera Garnier (highly recommended), we walked everywhere and it was lovely to be able to chill in the nearby Jardins de Luxembourg if we needed a bit of a break from the sightseeing. Lots of cafes and restaurants in the area but we really enjoyed the galettes and crepes at the restaurant La Petite Bouclerie , a 10 min walk away. The staff were superb, especially Eric on Reception and Dalal (?) who were always smiley and couldn't do enough to help. Although our room was a little small (next time we would go for a Superior Double), it was very clean and the beds very comfortable. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and coffee and pastries were available in the Reception area during the day which was a nice touch. All in all a fantastic stay and we would love to return.

“Quaint, Comfortable, Friendly and Clean”

Comfortable, clean, welcoming! Small, quiet hotel located near Luxembourg Gardens. Walking distance to the Seine, Metro and City buses. Staff were helpful, friendly and always courteous. Special shout out to Eric for his conversations and recommendations.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights, we asked for very quiet room and we were put in junior suite. It was super comfy, great bed and bathroom. We loved our stay! Delicious breakfast was extra but fantastic in historical basement from another century! Owner wonderful man, staff super sweet, they arranged a taxi to airport we paid and super helpful! Our room wasn’t ready morning we arrived and we sat in lovely living room giving us fresh coffee and pastries. Location was fantastic walkable to st Germaine Latin quarter notre dame le Marais. We will definitely stay there again. Amazing dinner restaurant 2 doors to right!

“One tech failure spoiled an otherwise excellent stay”

Stayed for a vacation. As a frequent visitor to Paris, I'm familiar with the various quirks and strengths of 3-star Latin Quarter hotels. This was my first stay at the Fontaines du Luxembourg. Exceptional: - Location: Near stops for bus 63, 21, 27, and 38. Good for reaching museums and two train stations (St Lazare and L'Est). -There's also a small grocery store across the street, for fruits, snacks, drinks, wine, and most anything one might want for off-hour eating. - WiFi in room. Had no issues with connectivity and speed. - Buffet breakfast: wide range of choices for a full breakfast. Staff was attentive and very accommodating. - Ousmann, the night desk receptionist, was very kind and accommodating, providing an abundant supply of tea bags and coffee sacs for my in-room enjoyment (kettle provided in room). Also, self-serve tea and coffee with pastries and apples were made freely available during the day in the lobby. A nice touch. Room cleanliness was very good, with a sparkling clean bathroom with a spacious rain shower and hand spray fixture. As I had requested, I was given a room in a very quiet area of the hotel. The Bad: No heat or thermostat control for first 3 nights. I asked the Desk Manager, Eric, to look into it, but why it took 3 days to have it resolved is beyond my comprehension. According to Monsieur Eric, my room was the only one affected (!). I had a similar "tech fail" with thermostat control last spring, at a nearby hotel! What are the odds...? Also, the room safe is small, so beware if travelling with a laptop or iPad 11". These won't fit. Overall, for the price I paid, the thermostat issue was simply unacceptable. I suspect management decided to cut costs by switching off my room's thermo control, since it was April. My rating would be higher without the thermostat fiasco.
