“Peaceful stay”

The staff was very friendly, always ready to help. The hotel is situated in a quiet area, a bit far away from sites to visit, but very peaceful. The restaurant serves simple but tasty food. Our room was simple, but clean and we slept very well.

I recently spent three nights with my partner, our young daughter and my parents. After reading some of the negative reviews, I want to set the record straight. The hotel is in a fantastic location - out of town but within easy reach of the beautiful towns and villages (including Rodez) in this part of France. The hotel manager (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was absolutely incredible and provided us with an excellent service. The place was probably slightly under-staffed if I'm being critical but he did the work of 5 people, paying attention to all details and looking after his staff well. The restaurant was exceptional (and I am very fussy), the staff attentive and kind, and the rooms were clean and large. Thee was a wedding on the second night but the manager took every care to look after all the other guests and ensure the noise was kept to a minimum. I would recommend anyone to stay here and use as a base to explore the majestic French countryside.

Causse Comtal was a pleasant stay, rooms and grounds were neat, clean and tidy. Located a little way out of the way of Rodez, which is great if you have a car, otherwise, it can be a bit of a nightmare and expensive to get anywhere. Causse Comtal was a pleasant stay, rooms and grounds were neat, clean and tidy. Located a little way out of the way of Rodez, which is great if you have a car, otherwise, it can be a bit of a nightmare and expensive to get anywhere. My only quibble is the breakfast, for 10 euros per person the breakfast is very basic, just thought it was a little overpriced for what you got. I would have thought the price you paid for the rooms were enough to cover the basic breakfast. The free wifi was also not accessible in all the rooms.

We spent a Friday night at this hotel in mid June. The hotel is in a pleasant location in the 'middle of nowhere' and was comfortable with very pleasant staff. It is a large hotel, part of the Best Western chain, and having read a number of negative reports of Best Western hotels maybe that was the problem since the number of cars in the car park suggested very few people were staying there and indeed we were only aware of on other person, who at least had diner! It was rather off-putting to eat alone in a large dining room except for one gentleman who finished his meal part way through ours. The meal was rather mixed; a huge first course of various meats that was very good but very filling. The second course was good for me but my wife's fish course was poor. The sweet course was uninspiring! We had a better meal at a 'chambres d'hotes' earlier during our trip. If you want somewhere quiet and are willing to play 'Russian Roulette' with the meals or eat elsewhere, this could be the hotel for you but atmosphere is likely to be at a premium.
