This hotel has good and not so good features. It is as others have said in a gated compound where opening the gate requires getting out of your vehicle to press a button. The hotel looks good with an open reception area that also includes a bar with reasonable prices. There are 2-3 floors depending on the building and a lift at the front. All buildings are joined by walkways and have confusing numbering. For example I was initially placed in a 200 room that was on the ground floor. The room had not been serviced so I was moved to a 300 room which was in a different building and on the 1st floor (2nd by US numbering convention). My room was a good size with comfortable bed that was actually twin beds made up as a double, an arm chair, sofa and a balcony with table and chairs. The room had a safe, fridge, kettle and very good individual a/c unit. I stayed 2 nights and was not able to get hot water out of the shower on either of them which was not a really big deal given the tropical climate. There are units dispensing drinking water on each floor which is a good "eco" asset. Breakfast was included in the tariff. On the downside, the pool featured in promotional photos was empty and looked as though it had been for some time. There is no restaurant in the hotel and none within the compound. The closest is out the gate and down the road a bit. The hotel itself is looking a bit scruffy with wall scuffs, paint chips and a broken door jam at my room that made locking and unlocking the door a major challenge. It is definitely in need of a bit of TLC but those things are superficial and don't detract too much from what is a good hotel provided that you have the transport to get to there and to a restaurant.

“Never again”

Woman in charge of the front desk staff was difficult to work with. Really felt unwelcomed. No bar service till "at least after 6 pm." We were assigned a room next to the laundry room and it was super noisy and ran all night. No help from the "lovely lady" at the front desk. Breakfast was bare… more

Woman in charge of the front desk staff was difficult to work with. Really felt unwelcomed. No bar service till "at least after 6 pm." We were assigned a room next to the laundry room and it was super noisy and ran all night. No help from the "lovely lady" at the front desk. Breakfast was barely ok; the coffee from the machine pods was absolutely horrible. Next time we would go 2 blocks away and stay at the Mercure Hotel. Had lunch there and it was light years better than Atlantis in every way.

This could never be viewed as anything more than an adequate hotel, typical of a lower cost french chain. Reception was far from quick in checking us in and that typified much of the service. Breakfast was tasty enough (mainly scrambled eggs and fresh bread) but there was a need to be individually served, not entirely sure why. We tried the restaurant on one evening (it was closed on the other night we were there!) only to find that there were only 4 items on the menu! The rooms were basic with the toilet seat being so flimsy it felt dangerous just to sit down on it. The good point was that the air-conditioning worked well!
