This family-run guesthouse is situated in a lovely peaceful area with beautiful forested areas nearby which have walking trails (which we explored). The rooms were good with very comfortable beds (ours having a nice balcony), although in our room, the shower cubicle was somewhat cramped (but the shower had good strong water pressure). The breakfast - whilst continental style - was absolutely fine, and the owners were always happy to provide freshly cooked eggs in addition. If anything more was needed, one only had to ask. The owners spoke good English, and indeed we spent a fair bit of time after breakfast most days chatting with them over coffee on the lovely terrace adjacent to the breakfast room. There is a supermarket, other shops and restaurants (a very good one near the outdoor lido close to the bottom of the street where the guesthouse is located - I recollect that it was called S'Burgstuble), all within modest walking distance. The cost was a little expensive for bed & breakfast - I recollect that we paid EUR 125 per night - but we enjoyed our one week stay here very much indeed, and if we are ever again in the area, my wife and I would most certainly stay here again.

We had a room which had not yet been modernised and was a throwback to the 60s. The bathroom had seen better days and without a fan smelt damp. But it's in a quiet residential area, free parking right outside, two excellent restaurants in the village (one Michelin starred almost next door), decent breakfast, friendly owner. Easy quick drive to Stuttgart, don't come here though and expect to rely on public transport. There are two good vineyards in the village, Beurer and Haidle. My only criticism: I think they should charge less for the unmodernised rooms than for the refurbished ones. No air-conditioning but we were given a fan (after requesting it). In high summer it gets hot in this area and you might be better advised to find a hotel with air-conditioning.

The best thing about this place was the breakfast. It was delicious. The rooms were comfortable and clean. When we booked we had assumed there was a restaurant, but it turned out that it is a relatively short walk away - but it also turned out not to be open for business. Luckily we found a local who directed us to a really splendid place.
