We booked a 5 night trip to this hotel as part of our two week holiday in Germany.In this busy hotel we had half pension, the buffet breakfast was plentiful and the evening meal which we chose, rather than lunch was four courses each evening. The food was well prepared and dining room staff friendly. We had a double room at the back of the hotel on the ground floor with a door that opened out on to a small patio with shared grass. The free wifi in the room worked most of the time, but others on the 1st floor reported that their wifi was more patchy. The hotel is in a very pretty part of the country which was particularly beautiful at this time of year with the autumnal colours. The pool is a little on the small side for the number of people in the hotel, but we usually managed to float around and relax on a sun bed. We enjoyed our stay and felt that the half pension option was good value for money.

“Nice Hotel”

The Aktiv and Vital Hotel Residenz is an average Hotel with very friendly Staff. The Hotel gets renovated at the moment , so there will be New Rooms available soon. It's got a little swimming pool and it's not far from The Therme in Bad Griesbach. You definitely might need a car to get everywhere. … more

The Aktiv and Vital Hotel Residenz is an average Hotel with very friendly Staff. The Hotel gets renovated at the moment , so there will be New Rooms available soon. It's got a little swimming pool and it's not far from The Therme in Bad Griesbach. You definitely might need a car to get everywhere. The Restaurant Wastl Wirt is very nice and I had a lot of fun with the Restaurant Boss.

We only spent 1 night so did not manage to try the sauna or the spa facilities, but from what we saw the Aktiv resort is a very good choice for a nice relaxing getaway far from the busy stressful life of the big cities. The room was clean and nicely furnished, we had dinner in the restaurant and the food was more than enough (huge typical German schnitzel and very good dark beer). There is plenty of parking space, and free wifi in the lobby area and the restaurant, unfortunately not in the rooms. I would recommend the resort for a longer holiday, since there is plenty of choice in terms of activity (hiking, biking, relaxation at the spa, sauna, massages).

This hotel has good, spacious rooms for families upto 3-4 persons. Hotel guests can use the fitness facilities (fitness room) of the Lukas Clinic which is just opposite the hotel, connected internally via a courtyard. The hotel's own sauna, thermal bath have convenient opening hours and open to hotel guests. The cuisine is good, for guests with package deal (halb-pension) the lunch or dinner is a 4-course meal, with 3 choices for the main course. Breakfast buffet offers a lot of choices. The staff is very friendly, helpful and responsive to any complaint. Furniture in the rooms is cheap, illumination in the rooms could be better, but these do hardly matter. The room service could put more efforts in daily cleanings etc., but also that is secondary. Schärding, a picturesque small city, some 20 kms distant in Austria, is a must. The Czech city (world heritage) Krumau, although a bit far (160 kms, guided bus tours available), is unforgettable with its breath-taking panoramic view from the high old castle (2nd largest castle of Czech Republic, next to Prague). And in Bad Griesbach itself there are so many wonderful routes thro' forests and nearby villages for hiking, wandering, nordic ski and all.

We stayed here in a spacious apartment with our 2 kids on the road to Bulgary. The accommodation is a bit old fashioned (retro - 80's) but clean. The breakfast is basic and typical German. It is a hotel that is clearly liked by people who like hiking. The half board is basic but tasteful (German food), kitchen is flexible for kids. The personnel is VERY friendly and helpful and this was appreciated by us (so many thanks to them all!) The wellness and swimming pool is very, very small BUT if you like swimming and wellness go to the Wohlfühl Therme nearby the hotel: absolutely to be recommended!
