We were a bit apprehensive about staying here after reading some very negative reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was served buffet style and while it wasn’t always cooked to British tastes (we were in a German hotel) it was well cooked and nicely presented. There was a choice of main courses and there was a plentiful salad bar. I think the soups were delicious but they could have done with being situated away from the main buffet area as there was quite a crush at busy times. The desserts were ok but there was no choice, however there was a large fresh fruit tray. The breakfast was very much on a continental style but they did provide boiled and scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs didn’t look very appetising but they were really quite tasty. There was bacon and sausages but in the usual continental fashion, which isn’t to everyone’s tastes. Hubby was a bit disappointed not to get croissants or pastries every morning but enjoyed them when he did. There was no English tea which we thought was a bit unusual as we were part of a large coach trip which uses the hotel regularly. The waiting staff were very cheerful but a bit too eager to clear the dirty plates away at times and could have waited for us to get up for our next course before grabbing our plates. The rooms were spacious with nice balconies and a good walk in shower. However, the beds themselves were quite hard and uncomfortable. I read one review that the sheets weren’t changed daily!!!!! I don’t even change them daily at home and certainly wouldn’t expect a hotel to. Especially in these times of conserving energy. I had no cause to seek the help of reception but I got the impression that the staff were friendly and approachable. We had free drinks between 1:00pm and 9:00pm. If the bar was unattended one could usually get a drink from inside the restaurant. The chap running the bar on the occasion’s that we used it was pleasant and cheerful. Tea and cakes were served at 4:00pm every day in the restaurant. However, we were with a coach trip so only managed the cakes twice. We didn’t make use of the sauna or swimming pool for the same reason. The lounge was decorated in quite a rustic style with shabby chic leather settees and the tables were old travelling trunks which we found to be quite quirky and charming. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay. We have been put off before by reading poor reviews and my advice is that not everyone has the same expectations/ tastes/likes/dislikes, so If you encounter any problems the best thing to do is sort it out at the time and not complain about it later.

We have just come back from a weeks stay here as part of a parrys international trip.we booked this trip last October, then i read some of the reviews on here and wondered if we had made a mistake. This hotel is a traditional German hotel set in inzel ,the room we had was spacious with a good walk in shower, the bed was a little to hard for me but ok .the bar area was reasonable we spent a number of nice nights in there and we never had to wait to get served .now the food we have travelled a lot in Europe and the food here was on par with most hotels, you are in Germany and the food reflects this,it was buffet style and replenished regularly ,my wife and i had no complaints at all.we was not treated any differently from other people stopping there we all had the same food.overall i would stay there again

“Decent and affordable accommodation in a beautiful area”

The area is quite nice and there're plenty of activities on offer through the Chiemgau card and close vicinity to Salzburg. The hotel has decent, though slightly dusty, rooms. The area is quite nice and there're plenty of activities on offer through the Chiemgau card and close vicinity to Salzburg. The hotel has decent, though slightly dusty, rooms. The service could be better but it's friendly enough (staff mostly Eastern European). The food is adequate and plentiful but nothing to write home about. Mostly suitable for pensioners on a budget who want to go hiking in the nearby mountains.
