I stayed at the Hotel Sonnenhof for three nights with two friends in February 2022. We were there for a health weekend that included half-day courses in muscle relaxation and aquagym. We had a fantastic time! The hotel far exceeded our expectations. We had rooms 224 and 228 in the main building. The rooms weren’t that great. They were somewhat cramped and the furniture was functional and a little old fashioned. There was no tea/coffee maker und turning on the heating involved crawling under the desk, which was a little odd. There was no A/C, either, which we didn’t mind as we were there in winter. Apart from this, the rooms were well-equipped and comfortable. They were spotlessly clean, as were the bathrooms. A good range of toiletries were provided. Everything else at the hotel was great. We spent hours every day in the saunas and swimming pools. There are two outdoor pools and an indoor pool as well as a big jacuzzi, three saunas and two steam baths. We were particularly impressed with the infinity pool and greatly enjoyed swimming in the warm water with a spectacular view of the mountains. There were quite a number of relaxation rooms as well with many comfortable loungers. Fresh pool towels were delivered to our rooms daily and there were bathrobes to use in the pool area as well. All three of us booked massages, too, which were very good though rather expensive. The food was amazing! We were on half board. Breakfast was buffet style and comprised a lot of hot and cold options, egg dishes made to order, lots of fresh fruit and much more, even sparkling wine and vodka. Everything was fresh and of excellent quality. What really blew us away were the dinners, though. They were four-course sit-down meals with two starters, two second courses, and three main courses (meat, fish and vegetarian) to choose from. There was no choice of dessert, but it always consisted of several different items. There was a cheese and ice dream buffet, too, as a fifth course. The quality of the food, the way it was prepared and presented – everything was top-notch! The cocktails at the bar were good as well, if a bit pricey. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to make the guests comfortable. The service was extremely attentive throughout the hotel. We all felt pampered and very much at home! Many of the people in our courses had been to the hotel several times before and we, too, are planning to return next year. It was definitely the best German hotel I have ever stayed at with the best service and the best pool and sauna area. The food was some of the best I have had at any hotel the world over. Thumbs up!

“Exelent stay”

Spa and several pools, very nice place to spend a week, good food all day around, much to choose between. Friendly staf. Tennis and mini-golf and good walkeing in the mountins. Nice nature. Recomend the hotel!

The hotel is great for a weekend escape. It has an outside and inside swimming pools with warm water as well as a few saunas. The hotel is great for a weekend escape. It has an outside and inside swimming pools with warm water as well as a few saunas. The cocktails at the lounge was also very good. We’re planning to go back at the winter.
