Best Western Kantstrasse - excellent location. Very near U and S-bahns. Only two stops by S-bahn to get to Messedamm for conference. Several good and inexpensive restaurants nearby.

BW Kanstrasse was an excellent choice for going to a concert at Waldbuhne. The tram stop was just around the corner, lots of restaurants and very easy to travel. The room had a refrigerator, the bed was very comfortable. The windows fully opened up on a very hot day and it still was incredibly quiet. Would stay there again for sure.

The hotel is located in a suburban area near a pedestrian street with lots of shops and fast food places, not touristy or pretty but well located for our purpose and easy to get to, right next to the U bahn. Check in was a poor experience because the hotel sent a mail via a check in app, that gave the impression it would be unmanned and that was our only option. I checked in and paid my balance and then had to set up my room keys on a machine in the hallway. It all worked fine, but all of this rather impersonal and unnecessary activity meant that I didn’t get the usual information about Wi-Fi code, breakfast times or anything else. The app told me to check the website where the information was not available, and when I had read all the notices in the room and the reception I was still none the wiser. Except for knowing what to do with towels, the phone, etc and that the provided water was not complimentary. So eventually I asked the receptionist who reacted as if I was a complete idiot and told me it was on my “card” - the one I didn’t get because it was not available for the automated check in customers. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet, no disturbances during our stay (no cleaning needed) and there was reasonable space for our luggage. No gym, but if you want to go for a run you can find a small lake about 1.5km down Kantstrasse if you go left out of the hotel entrance. Breakfast was excellent with cereals, various yogurts, selection of cold cuts and home made salads etc, hot eggs, bacon, vegetables, porridge, and then some bread and cake etc. I would have liked some skim milk. You could request soya/almond milk. Coffee and tea, juices. I would probably not stay here again but it was fine for my purposes.
