“Cool little hotel ”

Very cool little hotel. I stayed 2 nights and the service was great. The rooms are comfy and there is a community kitchen on the top floor. I would recommend it to anyone who is planning a trip to Frankfurt. The location seems quite central as well.

Nothing like a cleverly designed boutique hotel in a good location with great staff to win traveller plaudits! Well Libertine Lindenburg deserves its praise. The hotel staff are excellent - friendly, helpful and also happy to have a chat (which is great if you are travelling alone). The hotel is located in Alt Sachsenhausen - a vibrant section of Frankfurt (plenty of bars, restaurants, bakeries and cafes) which is walking distance to the Old Town (Altstadt), the Museum Sector and main railway station. The rooms are beautiful designed too - I booked the apartment on the fifth floor that was very comfortable and had some wonderful Skyline views. In addition to a relaxing cafe area on the ground floor there is also a very clever communual kitchen on the fifth floor that encourages a sense of Libertine community. No review would be right without mention of the breakfast which although small is a nicely vegan fare (if you are looking for fry-ups, walk away). I was told that the Vegan croissants were the 'best in the world' on arrival and that was not just an empty statement - they were totally delicious!!!

Libertine Lindenberg offers a playful, aesthetic charm that will delight those who value design. The rooms are stylishly decorated, the mattresses are comfortable, and the water pressure is excellent—perfect for a refreshing shower. The common areas are indeed as ‘Instagrammable’ as they appear in photos. A particular highlight for me was the large, well-stocked communal kitchen, equipped with high-quality Le Creuset crockery—a real treat for those who enjoy cooking during their stay. The staff were truly outstanding, striking the perfect balance between friendly, personable, and professional. They went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay, addressing any issues with warmth and sincerity. My thanks to them! Now, to the downsides. I came prepared, but I can imagine that for a tourist the immediate area outside the hotel could be quite jarring. Alt Sachsenhausen is known for its many wild bars and pubs offering the cheapest alcohol in Frankfurt. It’s very lively most evenings, especially in summer—so expect large crowds of inebriated people most nights! This isn’t a critique of the hotel itself, but it’s definitely something guests should be aware of when booking. Unfortunately, I do agree with other guests about the breakfast—it’s very basic. Aside from a little yoghurt and a plain croissant, coffee is only available in filter form. For cappuccino lovers, that will be extra—something I found inappropriate given the overall extra cost for breakfast. The breakfast on offer is worth about €3 from any local café, of which there are many. My tip: don’t get breakfast at the hotel—head out and enjoy one of the nearby options instead. Finally, my only minus point for the room: the televisions are very old and don’t connect to the internet or digital TV as advertised, which is a real shame. Given all that, I would still highly recommend this hotel. It is clearly up and coming, and for the concept and the staff, I would always choose to stay here when visiting Frankfurt for work!
