We were flying out of Frankfurt airport and wanted a hotel in Hanau our last night to visit relatives who lived in Hanau. This is a small, inexpensive lovely hotel with a breakfast buffet and off street parking that served our needs well. The room was small but big enough with a friendly owner. Hanau is a nice little town. It was the birthplace of the storytellers, the Brothers Grimm, and provides quick easy access to the autobahn connecting Hanau and Frankfurt airport. It takes about 20-25 minutes to reach the airport. There are many hotels closer to the airport, but you will pay a big premium for lodging.

“Good Overnight for Visiting Hanau”

We arrived in the mid- to late-afternoon. We were visiting extended family in Hanau. Didn't have GPS and it took a little while finding. In fact, on the street I had to ask for further directions. I do speak German so that helped. You do have to walk up (with your luggage) about 20-30 stairs (I didn't count). The owner was very kind and accommodating. She has a son who is currently in the states, maybe even in our area in Utah, so we had that to chat about. She gave us the room on the top floor, so there were two more flights of stairs to walk up, with our luggage. There were three huge, I mean HUGE, windows that all could be opened. To get the fresh wind, it was incomparable. The room was very large with four beds in it, and a very large bathroom. We went out for the evening to our engagement with family in Hanau, and returning in the dark we didn't have trouble. The breakfast in the morning was superb, and just the type of Pension breakfast I remember from the 1960s when I lived in Germany and experienced these pensions all over the Germanic countries. The breakfast room is delightful. At first glance, it is a very modern addition to the original house, but sitting in it close to the windows, it is great. I would stay there again if I had need to.

We have been staying here many times over the years any time we visit Frankfort Always it is clean and people are most patient and helpful Ms Fleischman is a wonderful host and can not do enough to make our stay perfect

“Very Quiet Neighbourhood ”

We stayed here when England played in Frankfurt. Hanau station is a tram ride from the hotel but quite easy. We arrived and had three rooms booked. It's more like someone's house than a hotel but nicely done. We were told the owners were not there and the people we met were taking care of the place… more

We stayed here when England played in Frankfurt. Hanau station is a tram ride from the hotel but quite easy. We arrived and had three rooms booked. It's more like someone's house than a hotel but nicely done. We were told the owners were not there and the people we met were taking care of the place. They asked for cash up front "because the card machine wasn't working ". We paid them in cash but after we left my friend's credit card was debited. We had moved on to Marburg but made several phone calls and were not satisfied with what we were being told so we took the train and went all the way back. The man we had dealt with turned up on a bike and handed us the cash back in the street. All a bit bizarre. However the room was large and comfortable and had a nice garden view. On arrival there are quite steep steps and it's not great if you have a suitcase.
