“Great hotel!”

This hotel is located close to the train station. Very clean. Staff friendly- not much English is spoken here. Breakfast buffet was terrific! Beds were a little firm. No elevator or air conditioning available. A very homey environment.

“Good value and helpful staff”

Nothing special but a decent hotel near the station if you have an early train. The staff very pleasant and very helpful to a non german speaker. Good breakfast, some rooms a little small but overall good value for money.

The recent visit to Giessen included a stay at the Parkhotel, influenced by a friend's recommendation. The location of the hotel is OK, 200m from the main station, the staff are friendly and helpful, the price is reasonable. However, the rooms are sparse, not comfortable because everything seems to be 1960's marble and concrete with absolutely no concession to comfort. On the upside, it is beautifully clean and breakfast is a great buffet, roadside parking is a bit hit and miss but I managed to use the hotel's courtyard. A great Italian ristorante just down the road and around the corner, the location is well lit and I felt safe walking back to the hotel.

Giessen is a small university city in Germany with a very large student population. Hotel is across the small railway bridge, 1 minute from the train station. Hotel is fairly close to the city center (15 min walk on Frankfurter Strasse) and has its own parking space. I have used the hotel multiple times on trips to Giessen. The staffs are friendly and helpful. A small city map on front desk is very handy. Free wireless broadband (although connection kept dropping out) is available in the hotel without any password etc. The single rooms are small but immaculately clean with new bathrooms. Bathroom are really small though. One thing that stands out is the breakfast buffet , which is excellent, filling and tasty with lots of fresh fruits, breads and meats. No bar but a well-stocked fridge in reception. Their is a nice German Beer garten (Beer bar) across the road to have a nice drink under open sky. This is a small city and this hotel is decent value for the money.

Single person room was enough for one person. Breakfast was good. Rooms are clean, staff is good. Single person room was enough for one person. Breakfast was good. Rooms are clean, staff is good. Location is good, right in front of the train station so enough options to eat but a bit far from city (20-25 min walk but no bad, i think). On the negative side, TV in room didn't work. Wifi in room sucks (may be because i was at 3rd floor but still..)..every-time i had to come down to the common room with my laptop to access internet. It's average, nothing i can say was very impressive but apart from WiFi, there is nothing, which was too bad. So, if it's cheaper than other, take it. Keep in mind that it doesn't worth "4 stars" as it is shown outside the hotel.
