Our one night stay was good and the staff were helpful. Reliable tram service made it easy to get to from the main train station to the tram stop near Ibis Budget. I would mention though that reception is only open from 7am-11am and then 5pm-10pm (as we read on the front door but didn't see on the website). Fortunately for us, we arrived within the time when reception was open - otherwise you'll have to wait in the garden or small foyer. (No problem if you have a good book or want to rest for a bit) :)

I needed one night stay at Mainz and the hotel was around the corner from the business I was visiting. Yes it is very basic, with room having only bed, small table and a chair, but I didn't expect much more for EUR 50 paid. Each room has a shower cube with door that opens directly into the room, so can be awkward if you are traveling with companions. For staying alone it is perfectly ok. Each room can easily accommodate 3 as bed consists of a bunk bed on top of queen size bed. Breakfast was modest but contained enough variety for everyone to find something. Hotel is located in logistics park so can be quite noisy when trailers pass by, but it doesn't happen often at night. Grocery store (Aldi) is in building next door so no problem with shopping for food. Taxi ride from the railway station (Hbf) was EUR 15. There is also tram stop a block away. Overall I was satisfied with the hotel. I will probably not recommend this as an option for a tourist wanting to visit Mainz due to quite a distance from downtown, but if one have a business in nearby area or simply want to break long car journey for a nights sleep it can be reasonable cheap solution.

This is budget accommodation but gives you all the basics you need. Location is tricky, in an industrial area, so without car you may not want to stay here. Our own point of criticism is cleanliness. A real clean of the room seems to be too much to ask for, not sure how often the grubby carpet is being vacuumed, for example. Bring your flip flops then you are ok.

For a "Budget hotel" I thought it was expensive for what it was.. It was clean I'll say that for it but the bed was as bad as the travel lodges in England & I didn't sleep at all.. Staff were very nice.. Breakfast was standard European & I just had a boiled egg in the end.. Would I use again? No … more

Staff were very nice.. Breakfast was standard European & I just had a boiled egg in the end.. Would I use again? No because of the bed being so bad.
