“Just perfect”

It was my first time in Germany and also my first time using a hostel, my stay was close to 2 weeks. The room was stylish, clean and comfortable. The hostel is close the the shopping area and to the public transport that is very helpful. The wifi could be better.

This is a budget hotel, more like a hostel or dorm. Big building. Some rooms don't have bathroom, WC nor TV. Some other only have sinks. There is plenty of shared bathrooms and it all works well. Breakfast is very good - better than I would expect from hostel type of place. There is also cheap buffet type restaurant in the building - but I did not try it. Location also very convenient, between big park and Dresden Altstadt. Just about 5-10mins walk to all Altstadt attractions. Staff very helpful and English speaking. Starting price for room with no amenities was EUR 50 but with parking and breakfast EUR 70/night - bit pricey for hostel type of place. But Dresden these days seems bit more expensive than it used to be - so overall it was good value in the city.

“Practical and near the center. Better go for a common hotel”

I took a single room, with a shared bathroom. The room was quite simple, one blanket, one pillow and one towel. The bathroom with shower was outside. There are only 2 to be shared with all the rooms in the floor (around 10). The room led to a parking garage but the windows were sound-proof, so no noise from outside. What you can hear is the one of the corridor, especially when guests are rolling their bags. In the room there are hangers, a table and a chair. The heating can be adjusted manually. And there's a black out curtain. The breakfast is continental and served till 10am. No toaster, the coffee is from a machine (only one for 30 tables), and the ligth of the saloon is not so good to read, let's say. To go to the breakfast room you have to cross from one building to another, through the parking lot (quite chilly in winter!). The check in is late, at 15pm. The wi-fi es good. And the place is 10m walking distance from the old center. Bring also your soap for washing your hands... I paid 41 euros withouth breakfast. In high season the price can go higher. It's not worth it. I would suggest for a higher price to go to a hotel that provides you with a bigger room, TV and a bathroom. I considered that the breakfast for 10 euros was a little bit overrated.

I have to say the staff was helpful! They had accidentally charged my stay during check-in although I had already pre-paid, and they knocked on my door to alert me of the mistake and apologized profusely (although it was no huge deal) - I would have come down and established it the following day but I had a long day of travel. Anywho - the rooms were very comfortable (beds) and had plenty of space for baggage, and even a desk. I appreciate rooms with a surplus of ports for chargers! Bathrooms were consistently clean and the showers were enjoyable warm. Breakfast was easy to access from the lobby. Cons - Rooms were cold. I even wore my scarf one night due to the chill factor in the room. Would recommend a thicker blanket during the winter months. Breakfast was fair - could have had more options, it was the same each day I was there. The location is a bit far from all of the attractions Dresden is famous for, but on a nice day, it was an easy walk.
