After what seemed like a really long day of visiting various places in Germany, and driving what seemed like a million miles, we arrived at our hotel, it looked initially like we were out of luck with parking, as the entire area was heaving with cars, but we were advised that certain parking spaces had been reserved for our group and we duly found two, one for us and one for our friends that were travelling with us on this day. We entered the hotel via the front door which happened to be about as far away from the cars as was possible, LOL, and waited for some reception service, they duly appeared and we got booked in, our room was lovely and we had two pillows, which was firstly a miracle as usually all Euro hotels on have one, and one that has no filling, these were not the best, and once you laid you head on them the deflated until they were flat, which for me is not good at all, as I suffer from back issues and I need to have my head raised to not allow my back to arch too badly, but that said, the bed was comfortable with lots of room. The bathroom too was of a decent size, clean and well maintained, like the rest of the hotel. We then went back to the car to get our luggage, albeit for the one night stay we had here, we found a side door, that had been opened so we wedged it open, so that we did not have so far to walk back to the hotel reception, it seems like this is a normal practice, as there was a large stone there to do this, so others had done this in the past. We got ourselves sorted and decided to go out of the hotel for some food, which was not too far away, but very nice, a long amble back to the hotel through the dock area, looking at the sights, boats and other activities. The hotel has a bar area which on our visit did not seem to be open as everytime we went past there was hardly anyone in there and no staff on the bar serving, but it might have been just coincidence we happened ot pass when they were off doing something else. The dining room, which we only used for our breakfast was well laid out, spacious for the tables, but the food serving area was rather tight, and once you had a number of people in there, space was at a premium, and getting to the items you required was difficult. Everywhere we went, both inside the hotel and out, was clean, tidy and graffiti free, the staff in the hotel were friendly, when we saw them, happy to advise of anything we asked. Our group was due to leave early the next morning, so our group leader asked if the breakfast could be opened 30 minutes earlier, but the answer was a definite no, but to the hotel's defence they did make each and everyone of us a packed lunch, with sandwiches, drinks, fruit and snack bars, which they did not have to do and at no extra cost to the group, we did cheekily go into the breakfast room once it opened and had a quick coffee and croissant before we had to leave. A great hotel, well maintained, clean and tidy, and well worth staying at, with lots of eating venues surrounding it, you do not have to use the hotel, but from what I gather from some of our group that did eat there, it was very good.

“Modern hotel”

It takes only twenty minutes from the ferry in Puttgarden to arrive to this hotel. Exit from big road just where the no 1 motorway starts. Nice, modern hotel with good parking facilities Nice, clean rooms. Decent breakfast buffet.

We stayed two nights in a comfort room and one night in a junior suite. The comfort room had two balconies with see, harbour and lake views and was lovely. The junior suite was a little bit bigger and had a sofa, from which you look at the back of the TV, and no balcony. The view was to the shops and the grain silos behind the hotel, and when you open the window you are face to face with your neighbour, as it is a corner room. Short, do not pay extra for the junior suite, the comfort rooms are much better ! There is no air conditioning and the rooms are too hot (we had great sunshine I must say), the beds are super comfortable and the breakfast is top. Especially the staff at breakfast bends over backwards to make you feel welcome. However, one employee at the reception was just plain rude and he spoiled the experience for us, regrettably.

The hotel has a perfect location with parking just outside the hotel itself. Good check in and a nice junior suite. The bathromm was huge and great toiletteries The bed was way too firm and so were the pillows. Tried the hotel restaurant located in another bulildig and had dinner on their terrace.… more

OK food and good service, but what really bothered us was that the bar could not offer ice to take to the room.... We asked more then once and they could only offer one small glass per person , what 4 star hotel has these limitation... send someone out to buy ice if you can not have this arrangd on site.... The best thing about this hotel was by far their breakfast, servcie with a smile on everybody there, all you could ask for and more
