The hotel room was clean and had all the usual basic amenities. We were travelling with our elderly mother and so were 3 adults staying in the room. The room was spacious with tall ceiling, large windows looking onto the street, which was busy during the day but nicely quiet at night, which gave us a good night's rest. Beds were comfortable and so a weary traveller can have good night sleep before exploring Kiel. Location is good - right in the centre of the town and not too far from the seaport. Car parking was at the back of the hotel. Local police and hotel staff were very helpful and friendly letting us stop and unload in front of the hotel, which has some traffic restrictions, before directing us into the car park at the back of the hotel. The bathroom was adequate, wifi working well and continental buffet breakfast downstairs was good with enough choice for omnivores as well as the vegetarian amongst us. Staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English and gave us all the necessary tourist info. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops in the walking distance from the hotel - so in terms of locations it's excellent. While not luxurious, all in all it's comfortable and we found it fairly good value for money.

Not too sure about this hotel - it has a great location in the heart of Kiel and close to bars, restaurants and the waterfront. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and breakfast the next morning was good. It also had a lift which is always a good thing and not always guaranteed in some older hotels. So why am I not sure? Well, we arraived about half five in the evening on a Saturday and although Kiel wasn’t particularly busy at that time, the centre of town is being redeveloped - that meant that our SatNav kept trying to take us down roads whioh were blocked off. I then had to rely on my mobile phone to get us to the hotel, which in itself is in a pedestrian precinct. You can take your car there to drop off but you can’t park there. And now we get to the crux of the matter. When we booked through Booking.com, the hotel had “Parking” as one of the facilities, which is a key reason why we chose the hotel. However, parking is only available by using one of the two public car parks nearby - more than 100 metres in either direction. Also, the hotel that we were advised to use meant that we had to drive back out onto the main road, go round the block, and after parking, we had to walk that 100 metres carrying our bags, across a building site! It had been a long day of travelling so we weren’t impressed. To cap it all, when we went to leave the next morning, we had to pay 20 Euros for the privilege of parking there! So, the hotel is fine, but the parking situation was very disappointing - I know it’s not the hotel’s fault about the building works, but the parking situation definitely mislead us. Good central location though.

Small hotel within easy reach of harbor and in the pedestrian area. 200 yds from Kiel Brewery, a must if you visit! Room was clean and fresh, good sleep quality in the bed. Room includes large water bottle and coffee/tea cooker. Curtains didn't quite close so it was light if that bothers you. Staff was very friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast was not lavish but wholesome - what you'd expect! In short - this was value for money and a nice 3 star hotel.
