I stayed at the Ibis Styles Hotel in Kiel together with family for a special occasion celebration in November and had a really good time. The hotel is very conveniently and centrally located right in the city centre nearby pretty much everything. You have "Schwedenkai" (Swedish Quay) where the Stena Line ferries from Gothenburg, Sweden are docking literally right cross the street like 250 metres from the hotels main entrance and the "Norwegenkai" (Norwegian Quay) where the Color Line ferries from Oslo, Norway are docking is also very nearby on the other side of the water from the Swedish Quay and is like a 10-15 minute walk. Also the Kiel Hauptbahnhof, the Kiel Central Train Station is also quite near with a 10 minute walk at most. You have the "Main Street" - Holstenstraße - right outside of the hotel with a lot of restaurants and shops, there is a McDonald's restaurant like 350 metres from the hotel, there's an EDEKA Supermarket 5 minutes walk at most up the Main Street Holstenstraße from the hotel and there is the shopping mall "Sophienhof" right by the train station with a lot of stores and restaurants also nearby maybe 10-15 minute walk up Holstenstraße. The Ibis Styles Kiel Hotel is located in a really modern and almost brand new building that supposedly was completed as recently as 2021. It is a big building and the Ibis Styles Hotel is immediately connected to the adjacent Adagio Apartment Hotel which is another Accor S.A hotel brand and the reception desk for the Adagio is the same, it's combined with the Ibis Styles reception. I was immediately welcomed by the two very friendly and attentive receptionists and recognised as an Accor ALL Gold member and offered a complimentary early check in. The reception area is very nice and they have have a huge coffee/tea machine with a lot of different beverage to chose from that is complimentary and available 24/7 which I found to be a very nice feature. There is also the restaurant called "The Public" on the ground floor of the hotel where we had our complimentary welcome drink, and it was also very big and fresh, modern with friendly and attentive personnel and a good athmosphere, and in the evening it was almost completely full of restaurant guests, despite the hotel being off-season and far from fully occupied, so clearly this restaurant is popular among the general public as well too, this was later verified, as I for example noticed electronic advertising in the EDEKA Supermarket for "The Public" restaurant, it's a kind of a restaurant-chain with other restaurants in other Schleswig-Holstein cities, i.e. in Hamburg, etc,. Never ate anything in the restaurant nor had we any breakfast, but judging from the menu and the food we could see being consumed, it looked very fresh and tasty and the prices were actually very fair, and it also was an offer with a certain percentage discount for Accor ALL members (don't know for which tier), if I was not mistaken. As for the hotel room, we were also very impressed. As we were in Kiel for a special occasion and that one of the members of my traveling party, a close family member, recently suffered a medical injury and currently has mobility issues, I had contacted the hotel in advance to ensure that we would be allocated a room suitable for this persons special needs, and we were very pleased that this was possible and that all of our wishes room-wise was honoured, a really special thanks to staff member Felix who assisted us with all of this! We got a big and spacious room at the fifth out of six floors, right in the middle of the corridor, immediately in front of the elevator, which was very convenient and minimised the walking. The walls and doors are very thick and there was no disturbing noise from the elevator or people in the corridor. We got a room with two huge windows facing the front of the hotel with a view facing the water and plaza and roads and the Holstenstraße Main Street nearby and the windows had special cushions in them so You could sit there and watch the lively city life going on downstairs, which also was a nice feature. The room was partly Your standard Ibis Styles interior/decor and partly not. It was the usual WC room/shower/bath room divide, but no external sink. There was a huge and comfortable double bed and a leather sofa that doubled as another huge and also comfortable double bed that you could fold up. The room was warm and cozy and there was an A/C control panel right by the front door, which was nice, as this was one of the first days that it started to snow this winter season and it was really cold outside otherwise. There was a large and wide desk, no real working chair, but some kind of long pall to sit on for working on. No stationary provided such as paper, pen, etc. There was the usual Ibis portal WiFi with excellent, stable and consistent signal and speed which You are to expect and used to from an Ibis Styles hotel. In addition to this there was a huge wall mouthed flat screen "Samsung" brand Smart-TV with a huge selection of TV-channels, mainly German language TV-channels, but there were also Arabic Satellite channels and even a Japanese TV-channel to watch. The Smart-TV was also equipped with a built in radio feature and wake-up alarm clock, there was also an extensive information section, directory accessible via the Smart-TV, which I found really helpful. The Smart-TV was supposed to have/was equipped with a wireless streaming connectivity feature to connect to and stream content from Your phone, I tried multiple times with a brand new iPhone 16, but unfortunately this feature did not work in our room, but this was not a major issue. Bathroom had the standard wonderful scented Accor "Press To Impress" soap/wash/conditioner/shampoo all-in-one with multiple bottles and the bathroom was new and stylish with wooden floor and glass wall mounted shower wall, no nasty shower curtain, which felt very fresh as well as a stylish futuristic sink. The bathroom was spotless immaculate clean, and so was also the whole hotel room, very fresh and clean, and despite the hotel in fact was opened back in 2021, it still felt completely brand new, and if I hadn't know, I would assumed that it was in fact brand new and could have easily passed for newly-opened just months ago, no scratches or wear and tear, marks or anything broken anywhere. In conclusion, our stay at the Ibis Styles Kiel hotel this November was a great experience. We were very well taken cared of and the facilities and all the staff members, the reception, the restaurant, bar and back office that we interacted with were all very professional, polite and friendly. I really feel that we got great value for money, this is an excellent example of how a perfect Ibis Styles Hotel in Northern Europe should be that other Ibis Styles Hotels in in Northern Europe could take note and impression from and exactly how it is supposed to be. I liked this hotel very much, would definitely stay here again the next time I am visiting the City of Kiel and I can highly suggest and recommend this hotel! Excellent!

The hotel in Kiel's center is conveniently located near shops and restaurants. Paid parking is available. Tea and water are complimentary in the restaurant around the clock. The rooms are cozy, though the beds might be a bit small for teenagers aged 12-13. The breakfast is adequate for adults, but children might find it harder to choose. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent.

This was a nice simple Ibis a bit above what you normally get for the grade. The usual smallish bedroom, a larger and more luxurious bathroom than normal; comfy bed, nice little bar/restaurant downstairs with free coffee/tea/bubbles plus plenty of football or other sport on the big screens (whether you want it or not). 8 min walk from the station (not much more to the ferries) and close to plenty of restaurants plus one of the rather sad city centre shopping areas. Heating/airco the usual impossible to understand Ibis norm (this is a really weird Ibis feature), shower well above average, otherwise fine. We didn't try the breakfast. We would recommend for cheap central Kiel stays.

We stayed three nights during a road trip to Germany. The hotel is located at the Bootshafen, an area near the casino and the port. Shopping and several restaurants are within walking distance and public transportation is also easy to catch. Public paid parking is available within a short walk at EUR 17/day. We chose the hotel due to the excellent location. The hotel is large and some facilities are shared by neighboring Adagio hotel which belongs to the same group. Our room was nice and clean, alas not as well laid out and spacious as expected and finding room for our two bags was an issue. The room was equipped with a good bed, a/c and a safe. Free coffee was available at the front desk throughout our stay, which was nice. The breakfast was good without being great. During our stay a couple of mornings were very busy with long queues, making breakfast less pleasant than we prefer. Also we experienced two evenings of very load music (until 10.15 pm one evening) from public concerts at the Bootshafen. This may be beyond the direct control of hotel management, but was nevertheless rather bothersome.
