“Long trip but a nice bed waiting”

In the dark it was not so easy to find, but i found it anyway. Friendly staff who was prepaired to help with all things. The room was nice and clean however it could use a little update. It is on a good position if you want to go to Denmark by boat.

It is a motel. When I arrived a parked the car in front of the apartment door. For a second I was expecting a coin operated vibrating bed and a pay tv ... to many american movies. But like in the movies this place is also a little bit run down. I asume it was built in the early 70ies. Refurbishing was also a long time ago. Same goes for the installation in the bath room. I know that the water in this area contains a lot of calcium carbonate. Tap and shower head were covered with limescale. It was also at the corners of the shower cabine (see the pictures of the other visitors). The rest of the romm made a clean impression. I don't know what to expect at this price bracket. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was ok. Therefore the overall rating is average. But: The staff should thoroughly descale or upgrade the bathroom as soon as possible. Because, the location is interesting. It it on the landside at lake Hemmelsdorf, but close the autobahn. This location is ideal for a bicycle tour: Travemünde (beach area), Timmendorf (beach area), Stülper Huk (protected landscape); just to mention some places. Lübeck is also not that far away. It would be a waste if negative ratings will waste this motel.

Stayed one night. Chosen because of its location close to the ferry terminal. Got a room at ground floor, which was perfect because of the parking possibilities just outside the door. No stairs and only 1m to unload a fully packed car! Door was broken and temporarily repaired with duck tape, which was ok but not a plus. Rooms were clean, met standard level. Bathroom slighty below standard (integrated in outer wall, was cold and humid). Nice towels. Sanitary bin had not been emptied and contained a minor collection of cotton swabs. Breakfast buffet was above average and the breakfast staff friendly. Were not informed at check-in that use of the free internet required a code, and when we found out we were already in bed and were too tired to bother to get dressed, go outside and walk to the other house and try to located someone from the staff, as there were no phones to the reception. Highly annoying way to make sure guests don´t use the service they pay for, which I´ve frequently encountered in low income countries and the former Eastern European countries but don´t expect in modern Europe. Overall, best hotel parking I´ve ever encountered, but you can get better value for money elsewhere.
