“Great stay”

Had lovely stay. Room was perfect, parking on street without problems, proprietor very helpful & spoke excellent English. WiFi very good. Tram to old town stopped a few steps up the road. Only problem was nowhere nearby to get a meal at night which meant another trip to town but only 3 stops so no… more

Had lovely stay. Room was perfect, parking on street without problems, proprietor very helpful & spoke excellent English. WiFi very good. Tram to old town stopped a few steps up the road. Only problem was nowhere nearby to get a meal at night which meant another trip to town but only 3 stops so not a major hassle.

“Charming Room”

We arrived to the Pension early and were greeted by a helpful gentleman. The room is charming and spacious. “Comfortable and unpretentious”

Our room had a comfortable bed, plenty of room to spread out, an en-suite shower room, and a choice of sofas to watch the large tv. Spotlessly clean throughout. The windows overlooked a quiet tree-lined street punctuated with the sound of an odd bicycle or car passing (yes, pleasantly lazy!) and then a tram every now and then on its way into/from the town centre a few stops away. The trams are quiet too. Free street parking opposite or in neighbouring street was handy. A simple continental breakfast (boiled egg,cheese and breads)and a delicious regional jam were fine for my vegetarian diet, and also some pate/cold meat slices for those who need it. A fridge outside our room with soft drinks and a beer or two made any late night returnings when the temperature had been hot, much more refreshing. All in all, a very relaxing place to stay and use as a base for exploring a very interesting part of Germany. We liked staying there and as a bonus found the owner's English much better than our faltering German.

This was a good find. I had a very friendly welcome from Roger, the owner, who was pleasant and helpful throughout my 4 day stay/ His English is very good which was a bonus. My room was large for two persons and as I was a single traveller it was huge. The bathroom, too, was big and bright. I had specially asked for a quiet room and I was well pleased. With the window closed I could hear nothing outside (apart from the big storm that came one night). It was very well furnished and clean and comfortable. One tiny niggle only,the towels were rather small and thin and could do with updating. Breakfast was substantial and served in a very pleasant room in a very relaxed fashion. Access was easy - just 10 minutes stroll from the station down a tree-lined street with only the occasional tram and car. It is then only 20 minutes into the city centre on foot or about 8 minutes by tram - very easy. This was a good stay and i have already booked my room for my next visit to Erfurt.
