“Style with Comfort!”

A fabulous sixties vibe and a beautiful bedroom overlooking the park. Just around the corner from great restaurants. Staff very helpful and travelled easily by bus around the city. Wonderful to have a gym, unusual in Germany! Quiet comfort, with style.

This hotel is in a great location, - quiet yet the old town is just a couple of minutes away. Our experience was a bit mixed, and considering the price, we expected more. We had a lovely, spacious room overlooking the park. Interestingly, there was only a limited number of outlets, and not particularly convenient for charging devices. An irritant was that the hair dryer was a basic cheap version which overheated within a minute or two. Also, the room was fairly cold, that being said by people who don't want a room that's too warm. They have an amazing breakfast buffet!

“Large and modern”

We stayed two nights here on a road trip to Germany. The hotel is located next to the Goethe Park and within walking distance of some of the most famous sights in Weimar, such as the Goethe House, the Schiller-Museum, and The Dutchess Anna Amalia Library. We stayed two nights here on a road trip to Germany. The hotel is located next to the Goethe Park and within walking distance of some of the most famous sights in Weimar, such as the Goethe House, the Schiller-Museum, and The Dutchess Anna Amalia Library. Paid underground parking (EUR 20 per day) is available, as the hotel has its own section of the neighboring public parking facility. We had booked a Superior room, which was clean, spacious and equipped with all the amenities you would expect for a first class hotel, such as a safe, coffee making equipment, and A/C. A very good buffet breakfast with a large number of hot and cold items was included in our rate. The hotel is very modern and large with about 140 rooms, and in some respects this may lead to a less cozy feeling than in a smaller boutique style hotel, such as The Elephant, where we stayed last year and enjoyed superior service. Although we had a good stay at the Dorint, we would probably prefer The Elephant for our next stay in Weimar.

The location is great, and we were supremely happy to get upgraded to a junior suite. The rooms were clean, the service attentive (though reception always seemed to have queue). We didn’t have breakfast or eat main meals there as there are so many options in town. It is however looking very tired… more

The location is great, and we were supremely happy to get upgraded to a junior suite. The rooms were clean, the service attentive (though reception always seemed to have queue). We didn’t have breakfast or eat main meals there as there are so many options in town. It is however looking very tired and really needs bringing up to date (go to the Elephant and you will see what I mean). Our carpet and the ones in the hallway numerous marks on it, and the bar area lacks character (a see of dark brown leather) with furniture a but marked and chipped from wear. It is also a coach party hotel, I have nothing against coach parties but when they all pile into the bar after an excursion wanting a drink, dint expect to get a drink first a while. If you want somewhere special, go the Ekephant for a small premium . If you want an efficient hotel experience this is ok but could be better.
