Detailed instructions on where and how to park and get a paid taxi to the hotel made it worthwhile. The Palacio de Santa Ines is in a charming, quiet part of the Albaicin.

“Solo trip to Granada”

Loved the location everything is accessible by walking. The views from the room are underrated. It really makes you feel like you are part of the cities history. If you are traveling alone I highly recommend this place.

The restaurant is very limited - tiny and really only used for breakfast (which is a cramped but nevertheless met all our needs) but who cares when there are so many places to explore. “MIXED FEELINGS!”

In some ways it's difficult to write a review of the Palacio de Santa Ines because so many things about it are wonderful and yet some of our experience was very disappointing. First, it's location is fantastic, right at the foot of the Alhambra (which we were there to see) in the Albaicin neighborhood, Granada's historic old Moorish quarter and a UNESCO world heritage site. You couldn't pick a better location, just a few minutes walk from so many sites, restaurants, shops, and clubs. The Palacio is an antique home that we were told was built centuries ago and it is, in its way, beautiful and charming. Like many Spanish homes of that era, the rooms were built around a central courtyard. The woodwork is exquisite. For older guests or those with mobility issues, however, it's important to note that there are NO elevators. We were so grateful that Avram, our receptionist, offered to carry all our heavy luggage up three flights of stairs. (There IS air conditioning, thankfully!) We were visiting along with my cousins and their room, one floor up, was gorgeous. It must have been a salon for the family at one time. It was huge, with a couch and chairs and nice artwork. Big king size bed. Just great. Our room, however, which was described on the website as having a private balcony with a view of the Alhambra (and which I think I may have paid extra for) was VERY small. And the "balcony" was a screened in porch with a not very great view. Our bed was tiny, basically a full-size bed, in which I spent two sleepless nights because I have a pretty large husband who snores like a buzzsaw. Not even the complimentary bottle of Cava could make up for that! Our room, on the third level tucked in a corner, may have once been used for storage or servants quarters. The bathroom was modern and large enough, but I would NEVER recommend this room for couples. The bed is just NOT large enough for today's standards. Everything was clean and we had what we needed, but I can't adequately express what a disappointment this room was, especially after seeing my cousins' room. I considered asking for a transfer to a larger accommodation but the hotel was full. So, BUYER BEWARE, if you like a bit of space, AVOID this room choice. The other consideration is that, because the Palacio is in the historic district, your taxi can only drop you off nearby, and there are more stairs to navigate just to get to the hotel. So, my advice would be: DON'T bring a car. The hotel makes arrangements for parking if you do have a vehicle, but it's not worth the bother. You can walk everywhere. The location couldn't be more perfect. The staff was nice and the breakfast was very good for the price. Casual but lots of tasty options before starting a full day of sight-seeing. Would I stay here again, or recommend it? Yes. BUT I would make sure I had a LARGE room down close to the Courtyard. As for getting my luggage to it ... well, you can only hope help is offered again.
