“Perfect for solo traveler!”

This hotel is in a great location, staff the friendliest I’ve found. Area is safe and I felt totally comfortable as a solo female traveler. Breakfast was excellent, room dark and quiet even though I was on the third floor facing the street. Would definitely stay again!

Would so like to give this hotel a better rating but need to be honest. Great location less than 5 minutes walk to the Acropolis and the centre. All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Housekeeping efficient . BUT Most uncomfortable (hard) bed I think I’ve ever slept on and likewise the pillows.… more

Housekeeping efficient . BUT Most uncomfortable (hard) bed I think I’ve ever slept on and likewise the pillows. Stayed 4 nights so 4 nights of poor sleep is not good. Breakfast can’t be faulted and you could have anything! And it lasted til noon! There is no rooftop bar/restaurant as shown on the web site and apparently has not been one since 2024. Particularly annoying as we often take rooftop bar into account when choosing hotels. Make sure you have a balcony,

We stayed at Coco-Mat Athens BC to celebrate my birthday, and overall we enjoyed it. But it's a stay with some genuine caveats worth knowing before you book. What they get right: The location is perfect, right next to Plaka and walkable to everything that matters. The staff are the real highlight. The front desk, bellboys, breakfast team, all of them are friendly, helpful, and clearly take pride in looking after guests. Breakfast was well above our expectations and we were extremely happy with it. We booked an Acropolis-view room and were put on the 8th floor, and the view is genuinely a wow, worth it. What you should know before booking: The rooms use an open-bathroom concept, which we weren't aware of and is not made clear on the website. The room is essentially one space: a toilet with a door to the right as you enter, the sink out in the corridor area, and, the big one, a shower behind a clear glass door open to the room. So privacy for whoever's showering is essentially zero. This is completely fine if you like the concept, but you should choose it knowingly, not discover it on arrival. (A small shelf in the toilet for toiletries would also go a long way.) Cleaning was inconsistent. The floors weren't truly clean. My feet would pick up grime walking around a "clean" room after a day out, and there was dust on the shelves, which surprised me. Coffee capsule and milk refills were hit-or-miss, so I started grabbing extras from the breakfast room and even bought my own capsules as backup. Lastly, and not for the first time in my hotel experience: there was an attempt to charge me for a minibar item we never touched. Not shocking, but disappointing for a property marketing itself as 5-star luxury. Check your bill before checkout. Bottom line: We had a good stay — wonderful staff, unbeatable location, fantastic view. Just go in clear-eyed about the room layout, and double-check that final invoice. Surprises happen.

“Nice hotel, great location, lovely staff, good food.”

This hotel is placed very conveniently in front of the acropolis, which made it easy to walk around key areas like Plaka. The only thing we didn’t quite like was the position of the room and window, where the buildings behind could see in.
