“Impressive service, beautiful hotel”

Just returned from a family trip to Greece. Spend several nights in Athens at the Electra Metropolis. Beautiful hotel in a great location. Excellent service. Would recommend without reservation and would return for another stay when back in Athens.

I’m currently staying at The Electra Metropolis, it’s in a central location with great, attentive staff, and is spotlessly clean. There are enough sunbeds by the rooftop pool, along with amazing views over to the Acropolis, especially at night when it is lit up. The rooms are well maintained by the lovely housekeeping staff, and nothing is too much trouble. The mixologists in the upstairs bar are very good and knowledgeable, especially when they pour my Long Island Iced Tea. 🍹 If I am being totally honest, I thought the breakfast let the hotel down. A five-star hotel should be able to prepare omelettes or eggs to order. Although, when I asked the chef, he politely pointed out the options available, which were pre-cooked, quiche-style eggs rather than an actual omelette. Fussy, I know, but you are dealing with an international clientele. That aside, I was not overwhelmed by the choice and, in my opinion, it let the restaurant down.

I was recommended this hotel by two friends in Australia, who are Greek. We stayed at this hotel for two nights The location is amazing … close to all the tourist spots in Athens…. However….. It cost us AU$800 per night We had requested prior for an early check-in. Despite us checking, they had the correct phone number to call us and getting them to call us to verify this, they still managed to ring the wrong number. So check-in was as per normal at 3 PM. Our room was 418 I’ve attached the photos of the horrendous view out the window The room was noisy and you can hear all the traffic outside We requested a twin bed, assuming they would be attached to each other however this was not the case. The bathroom is poorly designed, and the door didn’t open completely and meant only one person could be in there at a time. We spent some time by the pool, which is lovely. But at one stage was accused by one of the staff to have given false room information when we ordered drinks and challenged us loudly in a public forum. She stated she would go and check the details again and never returned to apologise. We had stayed the week prior at the grand Hyatt - for half the price. It’s facilities are much better and the money we saved an accommodation you could use for a taxi to and from the center of Athens, which was about €10-€15. All in all …. If its location you want and happy to pay $$$ for it then this is your hotel …. But otherwise I would look elsewhere

“Great location but noise is a BIG drawback and value questionable”

Location is central and walkable. Food is good on rooftop and in lobby burger bar. Rooftop pool closing at 7pm I have no idea why this is necessary and cannot be open later in summer but it’s small and seating is limited at pool. Location is central and walkable. Food is good on rooftop and in lobby burger bar. Rooftop pool closing at 7pm I have no idea why this is necessary and cannot be open later in summer but it’s small and seating is limited at pool. The biggest issue is that rooms aren’t soundproof; dogs barking, horns honking, you hear everything from the street or at least from my room. Staff were very responsive but had no comparable rooms. Paid a lot and for the price I question the value, I don’t want to be woken up all night.
