Had a fantastic stay at Clyde Athens by Nin&Bau. A warm welcome from Joanna who is a human gps, she gives you a map and clear instructions of where you are. The hotel is located in a fantastic lively pedestrian area, difficult for cars but perfectly located as everything we needed was in walking distance. We walked to see the acropolis and Olympic stadium from the hotel. The room was lovely with a projector screen that comes down for you to watch Netflix etc if you require. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to bars and restaurants. And there are lovely little antique stores and a flea market close by. We loved our stay here.

“Can be noisy”

While the hotel is close to restaurants and bars in Monistiraki, it's very loud at night. We had trouble sleeping until 2 am. most mornings due to the nightlife. The walls are thin, and you can hear those in other rooms. The room is tiny, especially the bathroom, and the hallway occasionally smelle… more

While the hotel is close to restaurants and bars in Monistiraki, it's very loud at night. We had trouble sleeping until 2 am. most mornings due to the nightlife. The walls are thin, and you can hear those in other rooms. The room is tiny, especially the bathroom, and the hallway occasionally smelled of sewer. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was in a central location.

“Stollen goods”

We went for few days to the islands since there are baggage restrictions on small flights we asked the hotel if we can leave few things with them as we had reservations for one more night upon returning. My friend I stayed at this place. First night was great room was ok. We went for few days to the islands since there are baggage restrictions on small flights we asked the hotel if we can leave few things with them as we had reservations for one more night upon returning. They agreed to keep our things safe. The day before our return they emailed us that our things are gone due to flooding. We returned and asked where the flooding took place they refused to show us. Our items were wrapped in plastic not all can be lost!!! We did file a complaint with the police. The owner or manger would not answer calls. Since we had an early morning flight we could not pursue this matter. I sure they stole our belongings worth about $800.

Overall, our experience here was just fine. I appreciated that the location was quite central which made getting around very easy. The front desk staff were helpful when we needed to locate a pharmacy nearby. The room was clean and as expected. The overall size of the room is quite small, but this is typical of hotels within the city. I did notice that the blanket provided was much too thick for a Greece summer climate, which led to being quite overheated throughout the night. Might not be a big deal for others though! The room we stayed in was directly next to the front desk where people checked in and the front lobby, which did make the noise level a bit higher at times. Not a huge dealbreaker, but it might be nice to be on the upper floors if you’re easily bothered by noise. I believe there was breakfast but we did not receive the information from the front desk and they were not in for the day yet by the time we left to eat, so we just went out on our own! It’s a good hotel for the price, and best for quicker stays in Athens.
