My partner and I stayed at Doryssa from June 5th to June 13th, and overall we had a very pleasant stay with many great memories. The resort is beautiful, spacious, and very well maintained. One of the biggest positives was the cleanliness. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard, and the housekeeping team did an excellent job throughout our stay. The resort itself is also large, organized, and easy to navigate, with a minimarket, several restaurants, beautiful buildings, and plenty of space to relax. We also appreciated the warm welcome upon arrival. Being greeted with a welcome drink and having assistance with our luggage immediately created a positive first impression. The spa was another highlight. I booked a massage during our stay and were very happy with the treatment and overall atmosphere. The breakfast, however, was a little disappointing compared to what we would expect from a five-star resort. While the quality was acceptable, the selection could have been much larger and more varied. The sunbeds at both the pool and the beach were comfortable and plentiful, but if you want a good spot, you need to be out quite early to reserve one with a towel. One thing that really stood out during our stay was the presence of two very sweet dogs that spent their days around the breakfast area and various parts of the resort. They quickly became part of the daily atmosphere and were loved by many guests. Unfortunately, they disappeared on the second-to-last day. During the nights, we occasionally woke up to barking and people shouting, and we sincerely hope the dogs were not chased away by staff. As animal lovers, we believe it would be wonderful if the resort considered creating a small donation station where guests could contribute food or support for local animals. Given the size and quality of the resort, this would be a meaningful and compassionate addition. We ate several times at Pnoe Beach Bar. The food menu was good, but we missed having ice cream options such as gelato available. We also found some of the staff there to be less welcoming than expected. In addition, food and drinks are quite expensive if you’re planning to eat there every day for a week. For example, a soft drink costs €5. On the other hand, the other restaurants on the resort were very good, with delicious food and enjoyable dining experiences. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and would likely return in the future. However, we do not feel that the hotel fully meets five-star standards due to the inconsistent service from some staff members and the rather average breakfast selection. With improvements in these areas - and perhaps a little more care shown toward the local animals -the experience could be truly exceptional.
