Jet2 say on there website there are bars and restaurants 850 metres away from the Sonia resort hotel there isn’t they need to change this there is a little village with some excellent bars and tavernas further away also we went half board got there late so missed our evening dinner they left a pack lunch in the fridge on our last day we asked if we could have our dinner we missed on our first day but was told it’s hotel policy that we had to have a picnic hamper instead we weren’t happy with this as if you are A/inclusive you can use the facilities until they went home the hotel is in a fantastic area it’s quiet but if you do go go all inclusive instead as you are treated better

“Sonia Resort review”

Accommodation very good, rooms kept nice and clean, lovely setting, a bit isolated so if you want to explore on your own, best to hire a car. Accommodation very good, rooms kept nice and clean, lovely setting, a bit isolated so if you want to explore on your own, best to hire a car. We went with Jet2 so plenty of activities available if you want them. Beach was great, never had to worry about not getting a sunbed. Had a massage at the Spa with Kristos that was very good. Food was good, but you tended to get the same thing alot of the time, the omlettes are top tier, along with the banana ice-cream.

I stayed at Hotel Sonia at the end of August 2025. After visiting a range of Greek Islands over the past 8 years, I have loved every trip. Unfortunately, this trip fell short. I have listed below the positives and negatives of our stay. Positives: Rooms were spacious and well maintained. The kids' club staff were amazing - a big shout out to Cristen and Adele. Who both made my daughters very welcome in activities. They really are an asset to the hotel. The massage I received, especially the hot stone by Christos in the spa, was fantastic. Its a shame the spa doesnt have a sauna and jacuzzi you can pay extra for before or after having a treatment. The male night manager / Front of House person who welcomed us on arrival very late was very welcoming and professional. It was a great first impression. Food was of a good standard. We were half board and both breakfast and dinners were good quality. I normally go B&B and will again in the future as the buffet on the evening became quite boring. But it was well cooked. The girl that opens the Panorma Bistro daily was always very friendly and welcoming. Emails sent to reservations prior to arriving were helpful and they did arrange for the sofa bed to be made ready for my daughter. Negatives: General hospitality - I am unsure if it was due to visiting at the end of a long, hot season but generally, the customer servicewasn'tt what I had come to expect from Greece. Staff, especially in reception, were not exceeding any expectations. I didn't feel any genuines service or care, in the daytime from reception staff or other catering assistants. Location. I had read it was quite remote but it really was. Very little locally. We did do some daytrips such as the Caves and Afitos. But I personally prefer to walk to explore new areas but the small town had a few restaurants and shops were okay for a walk. But it was shame. If you do look to eat elsewhere the Four Seasons was fantastic for dinner. Rooms were noisy. You could hear everything from rooms above and around you. A morning lie in was impossible. Especially due to below. Housekeeping - they did a good job cleaning and standards were excellent in that sense. However, the first morning we were woken with banging and doors opening with them entering the room before 9am. When we hadn't arrived until the early hours. There were no do not disturb signs in he room available to put on the door. But you would have hoped that it could have been communicated to the team not to disturb the rooms that had arrived that morning verg late on their first morning. And there wasnt anything to be cleaned at that stage either. After then, I have the sign on daily. They seemed to congregate outside our room, shouting to each other constantly all morning long. Rest was not something I had at this hotel, and was desperately hoping for rest and rejuvination on this trip. The matress had a big dip in it and this wasnt comfortable at all. When visiting the Greek islands such as Kefalonia and Lesvos. You were made feel so welcome and the hospitality was outstanding. Here, any queries or requests felt a burden. It has made us now look at another country next year. Which is such a shame. Overall, I wouldn't return or recommend the hotel to others. Most due to the location. Lack of dinner options outside of the buffet and general lack of customer service / interest. Please do look after the staff members mentioned in praise as they were outstanding.

Not 4*! Have just returned from this holiday with Jet2. Unfortunately I cannot see how this resort is 4*. Let's start with the positives. Staff friendly, helpful especially Kauper/Kapper extremely tentative in the main restaurant Rooms okay, and clean. Beach lovely. Negatives...Had to do a two coach transfer. When we arrived we needed the sofa bed making up. All they did was put a sheet on the sofa seat, it wasn't until a couple of days after that we noticed there was a mattress underneath and they hadn't set the bed up correctly. You could only have certain drinks in each of the bars. You only received 1 bottle of water in the room and then you had to by your own. Fresh pool towels had to paid for extra at 2 euros each time. The beds weren't actually made, the sheet was just folded and left on the top. The food was mediocre, apparently there were theme nights 3 times a week, we had no idea what these were or when they were. Food was on repeat and not very hot. We also felt that pool attendant was great even though other reviews are different. We went outside of the school holidays and I imagine when it would be busier there would be hardly anywhere to sit. There's not really much for kids to do and the entertainment is poor. It's a very quiet site which was fine for us and not anything within the proximity to do. Wouldn't go back.
