We had a fabulous time at this hotel, room 105, 7/9/2025, Yannis and Poppy are amazing. Very clean rooms with a hairdryer and kettle. At the bottom of the road turn right, one minute away a well stocked supermarket, turn left at the road 10 minute flat walk to the main town. Town beach, we used the Island bar, they will save the same bed for the duration of your holiday, just food and drink to be purchased, let them know if you are going on a day trip and not using it. Restaurants , so many our first night we went to Mylos, which was perfect. Other restaurants: Tavernaki,Thassian,Ambrosia, Simi, to name a few. Enjoy 🍷🍻

Great Hotel in a good location to access Thasos Town Rooms really modern, clean and comfortable. Aircon, fridge and safe are included. We had a ground floor room which has a shared outside space, I would prefer my own private area but not a deal breaker. Pool area was nice and never busy. Most people seem to go out. The whole complex is very clean and modern. There is a bar but no food is available lunchtime which means you have to go out or visit the supermarket. We hired a car for a few days to see the island. Visited Paradise beach and Aliki beach. Potentially they are very nice but they are absolutely packed with eastern Europeans. We noticed very dirty habits with fag buts and food just dropped on the sand and left. Big groups also drinking beer all day then getting in their cars. Another problem was the swarms of wasps which are worse at the beach. Tried eating lunch but had to give up when we were bombarded by wasps. It was the same in all the taverners lunch times you just couldn't enjoy your food. Didn't seem too bad in the evenings. It seems that the wasps are a real problem at the moment. The roads are good but again full of eastern Europeans expecting you to drive fast when you want a more leisurely pace and then overtaking on dangerous bends. The island is very pretty with great beaches however this is spoilt by the sheer volume of tourists on the island. You cannot park anywhere and in the town it's so crowded you cannot pause to look in a shop without someone being in your face.

Galaxy City Hotel is in a quite area of Limenas town, about a fifteen minute walk to the centre. The rooms are very nicely decorated in a modern style and compact, the beds and pillows were very comfortable and we slept very well, the bathroom has a shower tray and part screen but we tried very hard not to get water outside the shower tray but did not succeed so you could class it as a wet room and again was compact and best suited for one person at a time. There IS a kettle and two mugs in the room but you have to provide your own tea, coffee, etc. It was clean and the lobby area again was decorated in a very nice modern style. Breakfast was continental with scrambled eggs virtually every day, if not scrambled boiled or fried occasionally with lovely home made jam and marmalade made by Poppy the owner. The pool area does not get very crowded but when we were there there were no umbrellas for the five sunbeds, the only shade was the three cabanas. There is a pool bar with Yiannis the owner in attendance. I read before we stayed at the Galaxy a couple of quite rude reviews about Yiannis being miserable, all I can say is that we did not find him to be like this, but maybe that is because we found out his name before we went and engaged with him in conversation, we found him to be a very nice man.
