We recently stayed at Hotel Schaepkens in Valkenburg with a group of 40 school students on a music tour, and the experience was excellent. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout, and the hotel had a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Rooms were clean and functional, with good shower facilities, though air conditioning would have been appreciated during the warm weather. The hotel is very well-suited for school groups, with group-friendly dining arrangements, a wide variety of excellent food options (including for dietary needs), and a private social space that allowed our students to relax and rehearse without disturbing other guests. The location is ideal—just a short walk from the town centre and close to local attractions like the city caves and chairlift/toboggan run. A highlight of our stay was when the staff offered us the hotel garden for a performance after one of our concerts was rained off. They even provided snacks and sweets for the students afterward, which was a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend this hotel to other school or music groups for its excellent facilities, central location, and outstanding hospitality.
