Wonderful old style wooden interior, mish mash of furniture, stained glass, perfect spot to meet up, chill. have a coffee and a bite. Friendly staff. Good visit.

Right in the city center of Breda, you can reach shops, parks, the church and the station within 15 minutes of walking. The hotel can be accessed through the restaurant, took us a minute to figure out where the reception is. Staff was friendly, and we got to our rook quickly, which was small but cozy. The bed was comfy as well. We had concerns over the noise, but we couldn't hear anything that's been going on through the night, only thing you can hear are the church bells. Breakfast was included, you can pick from a menu the day before. The meals were pre-prepped, and while the food was plenty, you can tell it was standing for a bit. Still tasty. If you are looking for a central place to stay a night, you should definitely consider this hotel.

This colonial style hotel is located in the center of Grote Markt and just in front of the Grand Cathedral. Walking from Breda train station around 8-10 minutes after passing the great park (Stadspark Valkenberg). Be careful while walking in this huge park,always walk in the big lane,don’t walk near the canal as it is very quite as I met a couple of scammer and almost get robbed. The hotel itself actually does not have lobby,but it is inside a huge and famous restaurant. The reception desk is smallish and there is a small lift that can accommodate two slim guests. The typical Dutch ladder is very steep and don’t use it if you don’t used to. The room is very small and the bathroom even smaller,but the room has been renovated and quite modern. Small kettle and coffee are free. As the location is very center, I recommend this boutique hotel for those who are traveling to Breda for historic travel. The queen castle (Kasteel van Breda) also nearby (two minutes walk). The breakfast was quite good as they have hot items such as scramble eggs,bacon and sausage) and not to forget the nice coffee. The only minus during my stay was the room heater. It is not working properly and the room gets very cold even in March,the receptionist insisted that it is working.

“Pleasant stay”

No frills, but a goof stay in the centre of charming old Breda. Rooms recently updated an well equipped. Good breakfast included and friendly staff. A good stay if you are in a budget! Certainly has my vote.

On a business trip in the area for about a week. The room was very nice. I had room #9 which has a terrace with a small table for 2. The terrace overlooks the main square. The hotel sign is positioned over the restaurant "De Colonie", but the hotel actually spans that building and the building to the right, above the restaurant "Con Fuego". My room was the terrace you see looking above "Con Fuego". The breakfast had a nice selection of breads, jams, meats, cheeses, eggs, and some cereal. There's tons of restaurants, bars, pubs, shops all in easy walking distance.
