“Amazing Hotel in great location”

Smart trendy and very comfortable hotel with magnificent views of central station and the canal. Easy to get to all the main attractions and some great restaurants nearby. Lovely staff made us feel really welcome and whole art and design vibe very well executed. We had a great stay.

Great location just minutes walking distance from art’otel Amsterdam to Amsterdam Centraal station. The lobby, dining area, and the gallery space were modern, stylish, clean, and very well designed. The overall atmosphere of the hotel feels contemporary and artistic, which I really liked. The staff were friendly and professional throughout the stay. The room itself, however, did not meet the same standard as the common areas. There was no real view at all, and the cleanliness could have been better, especially the bathroom sink. According to the hotel’s website, dog amenities should include a bed, welcoming treat, bowls, and water. None of these were in the room upon arrival. After asking the next day, a bed and bowl were provided, but still no treats or water. The pool and sauna area, shared with Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam, were clean but overcrowded and felt too small considering they serve guests from both hotels, especially with many children using the space. Overall, the strongest points of the hotel were definitely the location, the modern design, the artwork, and the vibe of the shared spaces. The weakest point was the room cleaning and attention to detail.

“Great location and friendly staff”

Easy 5 minute walk from Eurostar station. Very handy loaction for the old part of town and for the ferry over to the Adam building. Easy 5 minute walk from Eurostar station. Very handy loaction for the old part of town and for the ferry over to the Adam building. Very nice hotel with a pleasant small indoor pool and decent gym and sauna. Not the cheapest, but very nice rooms and friendly staff. Bike hire a few doors away. Only downside was no drawers for clothes in the bedrooms, which is not very practical.

“Just ok - expensive for what it is”

I’ve stayed in a few places in Amsterdam, including the Victoria next door, and I wouldn’t come back to Art’Otel. It wasn’t really bad but I didn’t feel I got more for the additional price than what I got when I stayed at the hotel just next door. The one thing that was really annoying was the door for the toilet, it is a big heavy glass door on a concrete floor and it catches, so it made a really awful loud scraping noise each time one of us used the toilet. Not ideal in the night. It took us 4 days to realise we had a kettle, which was in the cupboard about 6+ feet high above the safe. Also teabags were not restored when we used them. When we arrived at the room the fridge was locked so we couldn’t gain access, and the cupboard that the fridge was situated in was incredibly dusty. The bedside tables are tired and make the room look a bit disheveled. The window wouldn’t open properly so we had to prop it open with an empty juice bottle. They fall down very fast and are heavy so this could be dangerous. We hired bikes from somewhere in Amsterdam, not realising that the hotel offered them, but when we came back with the bikes I simply asked one of the staff if they knew where the best place was for us to store them, and he offered to bring them inside which was very kind and not what we were expecting. The next day, I asked again (different staff member) if we could bring them inside and the member of staff told me that it was not permitted. We didn’t visit the art gallery or use the restaurant facilities so I cannot comment on those. Friendly staff but overall you can get the same thing experience and better value for money elsewhere, in my opinion.
