Location: (5/5) Tucked along a picturesque canal, the hotel is in a lively neighborhood with local cafes and restaurants steps away, yet the street itself feels peaceful. Lobby & Atmosphere: (5/5) The lobby may be small, but it punches well above its weight in design. Soft pastels, floral accents, and natural light create an atmosphere that genuinely lives up to the name "Monet Garden." Service: (5/5) Exceptional from the moment we arrived. We landed on an early morning flight, and the front desk not only quickly arranged an available room but also served us hot tea while we waited – a small gesture that made a big difference in a chilly sprint morning after a sleepless flight. The team remained warm and attentive throughout our stay. Room: (4/5) The room itself is not large – typical for a boutique hotel in a historic city. What it lacks in square footage, it makes up for with a lovely canal view that feels quintessentially Amsterdam. The bed, however, is on the small side – a common theme across Europe. One can't help but wonder how the famously tall Dutch manage. That said, the bedding itself is very comfortable, and we slept well. Overall: 5/5 The thoughtful service, charming canal views, and beautiful design easily outweigh the compact bed and room size. Perfect for a short stay in Amsterdam.

The employees of the hotel were wonderful. The hotel manager and everyone else were so attentive. We arrived early via train, and they made us feel welcome and at home until our room was ready. We will definitely be back again.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, within easy reach of museums and canals. The atmosphere is charming and relaxed, with a cozy, boutique feel. Rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, offering solid value for Amsterdam. Cleanliness is consistently high, and the noise level is low, making for peaceful nights. Service is friendly and accommodating. Amenities are modest but sufficient, perfect for a short city stay.

On arrival, we were impressed with how modern and welcoming the hotel is. We sat on a comfortable sofa and greeted with a glass of fizz. Even though we arrived at 1pm, our room was ready for us to check in. Marta, at reception, was attentive and friendly, she gave some suggestions of places we could visit and bars to go to. We upgraded to a canal view room and it was worth it to watch the boats go by. We were placed on the ground floor, in an accessible room. The room was spotlessly clean, with plenty of storage and the bed was super comfortable. We had a good size fridge along with the all important coffee machine. It was also a lovely surprise having a complimentary bar of Tony’s chocolate. As it is an accessible room, it was certainly larger than most rooms in the hotel, but we did have to make do with a wet room rather than a usual bathroom. There was also a slight smell of drains in the bathroom and water in the sink took a long time to drain, however, this is my only criticism. We did not choose to have breakfast as I felt that the cost is high for a continental buffet. Within a short walk, there are so many places to choose from for breakfast, plenty of cafes and even a pancake restaurant close by. And for dinner, across the road, I would highly recommend the Black Olive restaurant. The location is absolutely fantastic. It is around a 20 minute walk to almost all of the main tourist attractions, such as the Anne Frank house, Rijksmuseum and Heineken Experience. And as it is so flat, it is so easy to walk around. We were lucky to have dry weather, but if you are caught in a rain shower, the hotel provides umbrellas at the door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Monet Garden Hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
