“Amazing 5 stars all round”

Long weekend spent here for a birthday get away and oh my this was amazing, can not fault a single thing, hotel 5 stars, rooms 5 stars, staff were amazing, freindly and so helpful, the bed was so comfy and the whole stay was fantastic

We chose Yotel because the price was right and we’ve stayed in their hotels in eg London, New York and Singapore. The hotel itself is excellent in its price range: the area for check in, grab and go and breakfast are stylish and comfy. Our room, a first class room on the top floor, was really spacious, tidy and in good condition. We thought there could have been another chair or something for it to not feel too big. There were the bed, a sofabed and a desk. The bed was the usual one in Yotel and we find it comfortable, as well as the pillows, and we slept really well. The breakfast was just average. Nothing special, but all the very basic stuff was there. Quality was ok. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the whole stay. The hotel is located a bit was from anything. It’s surrounded by warehouses or construction sights, and some housing buildings a little further away. The deck outside is by a little water, which is nice, except that behind that water is another construction site. We didn’t mind all this because we spent the days in the city. But getting to the hotel is either walking 20 mins to a ferry or the metro to get to the central station. A bus does go 5min walk from the hotel, but it doesn’t go so often. If you ride a bike, rent one from the hotel and use the free ferry to get to the city side of the big canal. The ferries are frequent, at least during daytime. All in all we liked our stay in Yotel Amsterdam and in Amsterdam in general.

This was our 4th Yotel hotel that we have stayed in. We booked first class room which was located in the 8th floor. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very light and not the best quality you can hope for, but it’s decent. There was a shortage of cutlery, plates, coffee cups during the peak hour of breakfast. It seemed that there might have been a shortage in staff that morning. They had no time to clean the tables, collect the dishes and deliver the clean ones. Not so very good start for a day. Note also that atm 04/2026 there is couple of construction sites just next to the hotel which will cause some noise.

Yotel Amsterdam is OK. I would compare it to a tiny premier inn for a UK. comparison. The rooms are clean and the staff are polite. Although service can become pointed and unpleasant if management has not properly communicated requests coming from outside companies. These miscommunications can result in your keycard being blocked and denying access to your room without telling you which is very inconvenient. Room: As some have also noticed the shower doors can be temperamental and if one is not careful, the whole of the floor can quickly become flooded. If you’re a fan of very hot showers, you won’t necessarily get this here. It is ‘hot’ or rather very warm but when it’s windy outside and you really need a steamy hot shower, it just doesn’t seem to happen. It was also disappointing to find that most of the quiet rooms tend to overlook a construction site. I’m just grateful there was no building work while I was there! There seems to be very little information given to guests on their arrival. Even though there are automatic check in tablets if you don’t want to talk to anybody, the information in the rooms and what is given to you upon checking in is not much at all. For example, they don’t tell you where the safe is located in the room- so you might find you spend most of your time there assuming there isn’t one! The biggest let down especially with the weather in the colder months is that there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The thought of having to go all the way downstairs just for a single cup of tea is quite ridiculous, especially when it’s priced at €2. It does have some cool things going on like the LED light switch and the automated bed with recline function. However, the colder and rainier it gets the more the wind seems to be whistling through the walls, and the room just isn’t very well heated at all. Location: The hotel is well located for a quick commute across via the ferry to access the red light district, Anne Frank Museum, and of course the Eye museum is on the same side which is only a 10 minute walk away. Food: Food in the restaurant is very well cooked and flavoursome but staff seemed inattentive, there were no check backs, no sauces offered with the steak I had, and noticeably the prices listed on the menu online are different from the prices charged in the restaurant. The deal they give on breakfast if you pass on house keeping was not even mentioned… I could have had €10 off but couldn’t be bothered to find out how mediocre it was as others in my party said it wasn’t worth it! All in all, I would only recommend it if you really have to stay here for work, or because it’s super close to something you need to visit every day.
