Great location for Silverstone, good parking and decent hotel. The old part of the hotel that is photographed is the function part, and most pictures don't show the huge conference style hotel on the side, like a huge premier inn! It was however decent enough in these rooms, although no aircon at all. Gardens were lovely to stroll around. The Spa was the nicest part of the hotel, lovely to relax in. Food was pretty good, but the restaurant lacked atmosphere, and there wasn't really a bar to sit in...just stools infront of the servery. The old part of the hotel was used for weddings on all 3 of our days, so that would have been nicer to use for a drink. All in all, a great location, but you absolutely need a car. There is nothing around it for miles!

My 87-year-old mother and I recently stayed at Horwood House, and unfortunately, although there were many positives, the stay was made quite difficult because of the accessibility arrangements. Before booking, I specifically asked about accessibility because my mum has mobility issues. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and I really cannot fault them. However, because we required a twin room, we were given a room that was not close to the main facilities. We were told that had we booked a double room, we would have been better placed for accessibility. To reach our room, we either had to negotiate five steps or walk down a fairly steep hill outside. We borrowed a wheelchair, which was helpful, but unfortunately the lift was also out of order for most of our stay. It was working on one day, but not for the remainder of the visit. This meant that my 87-year-old mum, who already struggles with mobility, had no option but to climb the five stairs to access the main areas of the hotel. Thankfully, she was able to manage them, but had she not been able to, we would have been in a very difficult situation. The room itself was nice and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. The breakfast staff were amazing, and again, all the staff we encountered were friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, the restaurant service in the afternoons/evenings was a different experience. On two consecutive days, I ordered another drink which never arrived, as well as water for the table. On another occasion, chips that I had ordered never arrived. Service was also very slow, and we had quite a long wait on several occasions. This was disappointing, particularly as the food itself was lovely. Overall, there is a lot to like about Horwood House, and the friendliness of the staff was definitely a positive. However, I do feel that the accessibility information and arrangements for guests with mobility difficulties need to be improved, particularly when lifts are out of service. It would also be helpful if guests with mobility issues were offered the most accessible rooms regardless of whether they require a twin or double room. Sadly, what could have been a lovely break with my mum was made considerably more stressful by having to navigate the stairs and hill. I would therefore recommend that anyone booking for a guest with mobility issues speaks to the hotel directly and confirms exactly where the room will be and whether the lift is operational before travelling.

Location was good. Atmosphere was ok, but very busy the night we stayed there. Room and bathroom were clean. Not good value for money. Location was good. Atmosphere was ok, but very busy the night we stayed there. Room and bathroom were clean. Not good value for money. Quite noisy early on in the evening from one side of our bedroom and also opposite our room and in the corridor. The staff were friendly and attentive and helpful. We didn't try any of the amenities.
